[/ This message has been edited by whealy on 03-04-2006 at 08:57 AM katmat I will be putting a weekender on my prowler. I have not installed the hitch yet. I was thinking of having it chromed or maybe powder coated. does anyone have pictures of theirs? Thanks, Matt Murphy ed monahan Matt, there are some chromed ones posted somewhere on the site but I am not any good at locating pictures. Mine is getting chromed right now. Bob Rodenfels just had his chromed but did not install it yet.
Give it a day or two and some will post pics, I am sure.ALLEY CAT I had the hitch on Lethia's cat chromed,,,,came out nice! I went back through 300 pictures that I uploaded,,and don't have one of that hitch. Sorry. ALLEY CAT Found one of someone else's Prowler: ed monahan That is KenG's (Ken Gensheimer) car. Too bad it is not from just a little farther back to get the effect of the yellow bumpers and red shimmers. His car looks really great. whealy I remember RealRod saying that a weekened is a tight fit on a hitch without chrome. Just remember you may need to do some filing to get it to fit afterwards. BeWare JD went the extra step before he had his chromed and had the open ends closed first. Really looked nice. obi-wan I'm the one that detailed JD's hitch and had it chromed at my chromer. I've done several of these. I have found that the welds on some of the hitches left something to be desired so when I do one of these I correct the welds(TIG process) then I make caps for each end of the hitch bar and blend the welding so it disappears. I additionally sand off all the welding splat from the orig. mfg. process(very sloppy work from the factory). Then the factory applied powder coat is stripped off prior to a proper show chrome process. That's why JD's hitch looks so good. If you want one of these contact me for the price(chrome prices keep going up so I can't just state a price 'till I check with me chrome co. just prior to doing one of these. Call me if you have questions 650-967-3609 ( Obi-Wan) ed monahan With that small roll pan the ends are more noticable than if you have the stock rear end and bumpers. JD's did look great.
