LD For those that have shined up their A-arms,steering arm, brake caliburs and everything else in this area.....which way did you go.....chrome or polish????? I've looked at a lot of different photos of Kats which have had this done and both ways look beautiful. As for the cost, I know it'll be high dollar which ever way I go! Would you think the polish method would hold up better than chroming? Any recomendations of known people that you've had personal dealings with?

I would recommend polishing your aluminum parts and chroming all metal parts. Aluminum parts would be comprised of the upper and lower A arms and the hub which connects to the A arms. Go all the way when you do this, including the brackets on the fenders and the plates connecting these brackets. You can call me at 602-390-5208 to discuss in more detail. Use ZOOP after you polished your aluminum parts to avoid oxidation.

Gene I did the steps that Randy decribed to a "T"and it has been done appro.2 years and I haven't polished them since.The Zoop kit cost 130.00 and I didn't use a 1/3 of kit.If you could find someone in your area willing to do same and split cost of kit.I think my looks fine.(http://www.prowlerexcitement.com/GeneRiffe/index.htm)copy and paste

I have seen both and they both look great. The chrome will be easier to keep shiney for the long run, but the cost of chroming and the problems getting them done. Gary E. has an exchange program to get chrome front end. Other platers have tried on the 2000 and newer without sucsess.
Jay Harris had someone that would polish the arms and if I recall was not that exspensive (polished or chromed they have to be smoothed and polished for both) compared to chroming.

What is the best way to protect the chrome wheels?

Gene I did use the Zoop on my wheels and they look great yet after appro. 2 years but little use and after each use I always clean and allow no build up.
392HEMI Larry: I have used Mothers Mag and Aluminum Wheel Polish on the chrome wheels with great success. Awesome shine and great protection. Rims just need dusting with terrycloth rag once & a while. No experience with ZOOP to be able to compare. Jim
Gene Also the $129.95 Zoop kit is enought for all 4 wheels and everthing on frt.susp.and I would say ther is enough left to do maybe two more times,if interested 50.00 +shipping and you can have what I had left over.It comes with all instruction.

Larry747s Piddler the chrome job on your Prowler is awesome. That is one of my highest objectives for my Prowler.
Any comments or suggestions on how you did yours would be very much appreciated.

The chrome work was done at a plating shop in North Alabama.
They did the chrome work on a chopper I built
25+ years ago.
Very good work.
Chromed it with the rubber bushing still in the arms.
No problem at all.

Old school for me with ALL chrome...several coats of wax for the ultimate shine and protection.

ed monahan I think that if you use POLISH on chrome you are removing a small amount of chrome. There is not too much there to begin with, so be careful using polish.
If this is incorrect info, someone correct me.
