galaxie	As most of you know I'm a new owner of an orange Kat. My question is,I'm undecided on whether to look for a trailer or to buy a weekender for the Kat. Is there enough room in the weekender for a weeks worth of clothes & necessities. If I wait for an orange trailer & don't find one,it will cost about $600 to $700 to paint one + parts I would have to replace. I know people will say if you can afford a Prowler you should be able to get the trailer. That's not the problem. Space is my dilemma. There's nothing better looking than a Kat pulling a trailer. I also like the looks of the weekender. I guess what I'm trying to say is those of you that travel on short trips,are you satisfied with the weekender & it's storage space.

I haven't stayed over night anywhere yet with mine but I do like the weekender. Would seem that having both would be the way to go if $ is no issue though..
DizzysHotToy	Galaxie, I don't have a weekender nor do I have a prowler trailer. I do have a rack that I can put luggage on for a weeks trip. I travel quite a bit and leave my car at the airport and this works for me. Last year I took my Eriba Puck, a small camp trailer to Oregon for 10 days and it was great. Space and yes money are issues for most of us and I don't agree with anyone who says that if you can afford a Prowler money should not be an issue. Quite a few people save to get what they want whether it be a Prowler, Viper, Porsche, or whatever and that does not mean they can spend their money indiscriminately. Marty Usher	Galaxie - It really depends on how much you pack. Having traveled on my motorcycle back in the 70's I learned to pack light for pleasure trips. My wife CAN pack light but prefers to take more is space permits. For a couple going away for a long weekend a Weekender should work great. When I go on a trip alone (like HotRod Power Tour) I am able to pack enogh using the passenger seat that I don't use the trailer. However, for weeklong POA events, the trailer offers enough space to pack everything for Rebecca and I as well as the essential car cleaning supplies and tools and cooler and air compressor and etc. and etc. and etc...... GenoTex	Weekender has worked great for me and my wife Eleanor and we have taken two-week trips in it Just gotta pack right! (and light) -- to be honest we did wash clothes once enroute though.
Dave Mills	I have both the original Prowler rack & bag and a trailer. We like the added space in the trailer and we almost always use the trailer.
WildCat	I don't have a weekender but would like one. I use my trailer a lot and think it is very use full for trips, car show and the cool factor. You can have both weekender and pull the trailer the way the base of the weekender is made, so you have the best of both worlds. Weekender looks cool also and can stay on the car all the time, pull the trailer when you need it. A Larry Lord Trailer stand reduces the amount of floor space needed to park the car and trailer and in most garages stand the trailer up in front of the Prowler and they fit in one car stall. 14' for car less than 4' for trailer leaving 2' for space between car/trailer/wall and door in a 20' garage. I have a 24'x38' garage and the car and trailer will fit with the trailer on the ground hooked to the car, BUT, I have mine standing up and it gives us the space the trailer takes up for other JUNK.........lol ------------------ Larry & Sue Mayes
condor	If I travel with my car club on a longer distance for some days, someone else has to carry my luggage. ( Most times a Pick-Up or Delivery Hot Rod..) I helped myself two times with a bike rack, thats good till 100mp/h. I like the org. Prowler Luggage Rack. A trailer is cool, but here we have a 50mp/h speed limmit with a railer, so that makes no sense.
Sunshine 77	We try to do long trips and found this arrangement to work well for us. it holds a good size rolling suitcase for those of us with bad backs, and room left over for the detailing items and car cover if needed. The rest of the items go in the " trunk ?" with a small cooler up front. Easy on, easy off. We can leave the trunk in the room and fold up the rack, or slip the whole thing off and leave it all in the room.
BeWare	That is a PT Cruiser luggage rack pitured above with a trunk strapped to it. I agree with everything Marty said. Except we would not be able to travel for a week with just the weekneder and the trunk. We use our trailer a lot.
Kat Daddy	I started out with a trailer first and later bought a weekender which now stays on the car nearly all the time. I also have a hard top which eliminates any storage in the "trunk". I've only used the trailer on a few longer trips when my wife traveled with me. If it's a short trip or I'm traveling alone, I can pack everything I need in the weekender and/or the passenger area in the car. If you're not sure, my recommendation would be to start with a weekender (costs less). It's amazing how much they hold with some judicious packing, plus you will also have the trunk for flat things. If later you find that a trailer is better suited to your needs, you could always sell your weekender or just buy a trailer - you'll find both have thier purpose. BTW - Larry Lord's trailer stand is an outstanding way to save a lot of floor space if you do decide to go the trailer route.
BlackAMX	I have both the weekender and trailer. You said money was not a problem so I suggest you get both. Like Wildcat said you get the best of both worlds.
ed monahan	Either one will probably hold their price as long as you don't get goofy and pay way too much. Get whichever one becomes available first. If you decide to switch, you can do it practically cost free. You will recover whatever you paid for a trailer and almost get the full retail price on a good used weekender.

Chi_Town_Prowler	After seeing the Weekender in person on some cars, I must admit that it DOES look good on the back of the Prowler and gives it an extra flair. However for my money, it would have to be the trailer. The trailer is ALWAYS going to get the edge because it is a factory item and there weren't that many made in relation to the number of cars. They've already creeped up in value and in the coming years, the sky will be the limit!! The fact that the last Prowler built came with a trailer kinda hints at this. Also, they JUST LOOK COOL on the back of that car!!! You don't have to be hauling anything or going on a trip to be enjoy them, JUST CRUISE!!
MDProwler	I bought my weekender last year for the lighthouse challenge and it was plenty for two nights plus junk we picked up along the way. This year i painted it and once on the car it stayed for the rest of the year. If you go weekender it will probably become a permanent fixture on the kat. Only one problem with the weekender. It is possible to open the trunk lid while the weekender is in up position and possibly damage the trunk lid. I have developed a wireless device that will prevent that from happening. I will be offering this device for sale soon if there is an interest in it. Should run about $100-$125 and take about 30 minutes to install.
galaxie	Thanks to all that gave me advice. Unless I come across an orange trailer soon I think I'm going to get the weekender. I can always get a trailer when one comes available.
