anyway i wanted to ask you all for any advice since This message has been edited by rraite on 11-07-2005 at 01:24 PM anyway i wanted to ask you all for any advice since Try to be gentle since this is your first time!!!LOL Enjoy the experience, meet lots of new folks and appreciate the efforts of all entrants required bringing a car to the show. Be prepared to answer lots of questions about the Kat, especially if your area doesn't have many Prowlers. Having been in several shows, the best advice is just to have fun! One thing I have found is that no one is as critical of my car as I am. If you are pretty happy with your Kat's appearance, then I'm sure others will be REALLY impressed. This message has been edited by Bob Miller on 11-03-2005 at 12:18 PM Classes we have entered vary from Special Interest , 1995 to Present or Modern Mopar etc thanks for the info guys! im sure it will be a great time! dj4hire the show is in Lawton ok put on by Lawton police academy alumni association, sat Nov 5th 12 to 5 pm pumpkin the categories are thanks bob and beware I am also anal about the kat. This message has been edited by rraite on 11-03-2005 at 04:02 PM ------------------ I don't know how I could forget since i also made a deal Hope you win. We made a poster of all the stats of the car and put them on the side windows, this way they can answer their own questions. Please do not touch signs are good also. This message has been edited by pumpkin on 11-07-2005 at 10:04 AM Face it, the Prowler is a new car, or at least an 8 year old car. As such, we've found it easier on everyone if we don't compete (for a trophy or any prize). We'd rather show up, pay the entry fee, support the show (especially if it's a charity fund raiser), buy a lot of 50/50 tickets & give them to the car owner's next to us, and leave it at that. We don't need a trophy to enjoy the car. We use our home PC to print out the following sign: "In the spirit of fair play, the owners of this vehicle wish this vehicle not to be judged or classified. We are here soley to support this worthwhile event and communicate with all who appreciate this Communiy's love for all things automotive." Have it laminated & stick it under the windshield wiper whenever you show. Like I said, it may not work for many, but fellow gearheads will understand. Ed & Carol This message has been edited by Ed W. on 11-04-2005 at 04:56 PM I wish I knew about this further in advance...I'll see if i can get down there. Please send me more info and directions. I don't have enough time to get my car cleaned up enough for a show, but I may drive down and see yours. My new e-mail is zackgman@hotmail.com im sure the show will be great, but the beat part is going to be getting together with POA members!! bill thats going to be another first. Good to hear from you Jack. Ed & Carol From left; Zack, Richard (rraite) and Dave (dj4hire). It was great getting together with fellow Prowler owners in the state. Dave's highly modified '02 Candy took 2nd place in the show. Richard's 99 mostly stock '99 Purple looked great too! I didn't make it there in time for the show, but it was a nice day for a drive and a great reason to finally get to meet our new friends from Lawton! Hope to see you again soon. Janet and I would like to thank Dave (dj4hire) and his wife Dave & Ruth are the best! we had a great time, and his also got to meet two more great folks Zack and Cindy, I just cant tell you how much fun it was for us and Richard & Janet This message has been edited by rraite on 11-08-2005 at 09:59 AM rraite good day all

its my first!! Bob Miller RELAX and enjoy meeting other car owners and the public. BeWare If you are entering in serious hopes of snagging a Throphy then the more detailed the car the better. When its show ready you would be hard pressed to find a speck of dust anywhere on our Kat. I even polish the brass fittings where the brake line attach to the calipers. But then I am Anal. Even though our Kat is kept spotless at all times, I still spend hours, before every show detailing every inch of it. With that said the advice to have fun is an excellent one. You will be answering a lot of questions and meet many great folks. You may also hear some negative comments. Don't pay any attention to them. rraite bill I promise to be gentle! LoL
if they let us in!
elmer thomas park, 3rd & ferris ave. registration is at 11am. it would be great if you came down!! bring Zack with you!
hotrods, street machine, classics, antiques, trucks.
I will stay out of the truck categorie. LoL
the other day a friend of mine showed up and i was using
an old tooth brush on hard to reach parts under the hood
and he just shook his head and walked away! LoL
so anyway they all think im crazy!!KlasKat I have entered mine into several shows and I find if you go under Hot rods or Street rods those who are there get all bent out of shape "cause you really are not a "Hot Rod" in their opinion. So I have found I can get close to a trophy by going under the "Custom" class. I do have several things done to the prowler and it is no longer stock so it works for me. Good Luck..
Chrome Transmission Cover & Front Fairing/Signal Assembly by Gary, Chrome Front Body Protectors,(Front Bumpers Removed), Tinted Air Patrol, Chromed Carpet & Door Sill Plates from Real Rod,Custom Chrome underhood braces, Front & Rear Splash Guards, Front Stabilizer Brace, Tinted Windows, Visor Decals, Ceramic Brakes, Bumper Shimmer,Car Cover & Alley Cat's approved Center Cap Improvement Mod.rraite Janet just reminded me that Nov 5th 2004 we went to
Oklahoma city to pick up the prowler so its also
my one year anniversary!!!!
with her that while in OKC to pick up the prowler she gets
a new couch and she did!rraite you guys that have done car shows I have another question?
what is the best way to display your kat?
hood up
trunk lid open
top down or up
or display a few different ways during the show?
thanks all!
Richardpumpkin Hood up, top down. Open trunk lid, only when you want too show how big your trunk is. rraite thanks pumpkin!
also I will enter it in the street machine class!
take care

RichardJack Lietzke I know this is a little unusual but, I won Best In Show twice and 1st place twice in the shows I entered in Sports Car Class, and 1st place in two parades --(this year) ......... Jack Ed W. This may not work for everyone, but it's the approach we choose to use: Jack Lietzke I somewhat disagree with that approach, This year, at the Jerry Lewis Telethon, we had 8 prowler there, out of about 416 classics, etc....the event was of course a great event to collect money for Jerry's kids, which we did, but the neat thing was the children and young adults, in wheel chairs, etc., were the ones who helped select the winners, and , I am telling you they loved getting in the cars, taking pictures, etc.....I am sure next year will even better.............Jack Zack Richard, 392HEMI Richard: For the show, take the couch out, they tend to get nervous with all the extra's. Seriously, the more detailing the better, including wiping down the inside of all tires with dressing. Been in 3 shows and somehow nabbed 2 first place for " BestMopar Post 1982". Going to Don Garlits Annual Mopar show Nov. 5 & 6 in S. Ocala, Fl. Best of luck and ENJOY!!!!!!!! Blew Buyou said it!! rraite thanks hemi couch has been removed! lol
im sure it will be a great time
just got a call from Zack hes coming down and so is dj4hire!

My gut instinct is that we are on the same page (if not, no big deal). I sincerely know where you're coming from
re: "....I am telling you they loved getting in the cars, taking pictures," because that's what it's really all about. I believe you still have my address. Please let me know about next year's event & we'll be honored to make the drive to good old Lucas County.Zack Pics from Lawton, Oklahoma car show. rraite
