I asked him where they got them, and it turns out he makes them with a guy in Georgia. I also learned that they are currently working on a Prowler look-alike version, which should be ready for display in a week or two. He is going to call me when the Prowler trailer is ready to look at. They are smaller than the real prowler trailer, but still have quite a bit of room in them. Cost is approximately $2K unpainted, and another $1500 fully painted to look like a Prowler. I will post pictures as soon as I get to see it. ------------------ I agree trailers and cars are not the same. That is correct. I have his info around here someplace. I'll see if I can find it. I talked to this guy last year and told him I would take one when he got them built. Now I have no Kat. Guess I'll have to buy another Prowler to pull the new trailer. Can't find it. Guess I deleted the info. I think I found it while researching trailers on Google. ------------------ This message has been edited by Bcoffman Gray Ghost on 10-05-2005 at 03:18 PM That's it. I talked with Donnie quite a bit. He promised to try a Prowler trailer. Thanks. Those, indeed, appear to be the trailers the guy I met talked about. He is apparently working with the guy who actually builds them in Georgia. It seems that you have a leg up on the actual manufacturer of the trailers, so you may be in a better position to report on the status of the Prowler trailer. I will still report back on what my contact has to say, as soon as he gets me an update.Kraut I ran into a guy tonight with one of those custom car look-alike trailers behind his Honda Goldwing. Actually, there were two guys and each of them had a trailer. One looked like a '57 Chevy and the other one resembled an early thirties streetrod. They were both very well done. garysss Sounds Interesting take pic's and post after you look. Ray based on your quotes, that would sure cause Prowler trailer prices to drop like rocks ... to the realm of the realistic at least ... please, keep us posted! Good Work! ed monahan Why would Prowler trailer prices drop due to an imitation?
I don't think old T-Bird prices dropped a few years ago when they came out with the new T-Birds.meandmykitty I WOULD HAVE TO THINK CARS AND TRAILERS ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS IN COST I'LL AGREE WITH RAY TODAY onecatnodog Mopar still owns the rights on the trailers and there for could be a costly mistake to produce them. Can you say Jail Time, you must obtain written permission to not be in violation with there rights. Saw this happen on other restoration parts for Mopar muscle cars a few years back. Lots of people have lost there inventory and money in doing so. Kind of like making counterfeit sports jerseys. ed monahan quote:

They reproduce baseball cards all the time. The originals do not drop in price, as a result. If the demand dries up, the price could drop. Someone that wants an OEM trailer will still pay the price, same as the original car covers, original bras, floor mats etc. vs the aftermarket ones. Other factors could cause a drop in price, also. NeverBland I think Kraut is talking about trailers that look like cars! (the whole trailer is shaped like a car) I think this was discussed here a few months ago.... DIXIE Cat quote:

I don't think old T-Bird prices dropped a few years ago when they came out with the new T-Birds.Kraut As Neverbland pointed out, these trailers are not copies of the original Prowler trailers. They are trailers that look like the car. There has been some discussion on the board about this in the past, but I haven't heard any more about it lately. Bcoffman Gray Ghost quote:
