galaxieI'm thinking about getting a trailer for my car, but I was told they are very dangerous & hard to control when the pavement is wet. Is this true. If so would sway bars help? Thanks for the info.
ed monahanWho told you that? If they are empty and you are going 100 MPH and make a U-turn, it will probably fishtail. I have never had a problem. Others may chime in and have a horror story.
redmanI bought my car this year with the trailer. On it's trip from NM to CO, I hit some interesting rain for a good while. Having not driven the car much, and never with the trailer, I was surprised at how well it rode empty in the rain. I kept forgeting it was back there.
SirRealNo horror story here. I have to keep looking back to see if it's still there as it tracks so well. Now I did see WildBill do a six wheel power slide on purpose. Jeff

Your right ED 100 mph, could do some damage. Oh yea do you mean 100 mph taking a turn???

WildCatI have had my trailer over 100 many times. Tops was on the track at the proving grounds. I believe 115 was the top speed when co pilot (Tom Mills) was saying THE FUEL LIGHT IS ON, THE FUEL LIGHT IS ON

I have had the rear of the car kick out on wet pavement in a turn. But once I realized how it handled in the rain I don't do it unless I want to. It was the 1st time I pulled it in the rain.

BUT the car alone in the rain takes some careful driving in the rain

I don't think you have much to worry about

Is this the trailer that Wild Bill is now selling in the classifieds?

Charlie

Marty UsherI've pulled my trailer over 25,000 miles and rarely even know it is back there other than the car being a little slower and using a bit more fuel. It takes some getting use to backing it up as it responds to even the slightest change in direction when backing up.

You'll love the extra storage capacity.

Marty

xpguyI have found a real neat benefit with the backup sensor system I installed. The tongue distance is just long enough that the sensors register the trailer when backing and are sensitive enough to tell me when either side starts to creep. I have gotten so good that I can back up just by watching the LED readout on my dash.

BeWareRain or shine you don't even know the trailer is behind you.
indy96Driving with the trailer and the top up makes you forget the trailer is there. Never had a problem empty or full. Backing it up can be a headache...easy solution? unhook and walk it to where you want it. Best thing I ever added to the Kat.

You have a P.M.

texasprowlerno problems noted with towing the trailer.
I highly recommend the Larry Lord trailer stand.
Not sure if he is still making these or not. You'll have room in your garage for another kat if you use his stand.

Yeah I did that during my younger years The 2004 NJ Lighthouse Challenge... That was a lot of fun too... Never thought that the trailer would track so well with the Kat. I think I surprised the heck out of Ed as well You can travel at a pretty high rate of speed & forget it is even there... The only tough thing about the trailer is backing up... With plenty of practice, you can master it.
To answer your question... No, I am not selling my trailer or have plans too... I can't even imagine not having it...

But ours is for sale..................

CJWe just returned from the Pumpkin Run here in Michigan. We ran into some serious rains/thunderstorms on the way up to the event and on the way back today. Drove for about 50 miles today in rain so hard that you can't see in front of you...lots of water on the road. I did not have any trouble with the cat or the trailer. Slowed down enough so there was no hydroplaning. I have to admit it was a bit nerve-wracking, but only from the standpoint that I was worried about someone hitting me. Both the cat and the trailer performed like champs!!
