halicathey junior,

Its great to see a youngster with the passion for something that us oldies love so dearly...I can only give you the advice that I've offered to many youngins, both as a hockey coach and as a parent....
when people have wants... sometimes they are to quick to give up... they seem unobtainable....
Always ask yourself " how bad do I want it ?"... "do I want it bad enough to do what it takes to get it ?".... if your answer "YES ! " then you are half way there....
there is no free ride... you have to work hard for your dreams, you gotta get as much education as you can, you gotta stay away from the "traps".... cigarettes, drugs, booze, crime, young parenthood...
theres lots of distractions...
keep focused, don't give up, work hard, establish credit ( pay your bills )...
if you think you gotta sell drugs or steal to get your dream... your dream will be a cell in prison... guaranteed !

be your own best friend, and your own biggest fan and never give up...

whatta ya think..? do you have what it takes ?

only you have the answer for that..

good luck !

pumpkinGreat advise.
SILVRKATI wish someone had given me some advise like that about 40+ years ago. I had to do it the hard (stupid) way! Good advise!!

the only way you will get a Prowler if your smokin weed all the time will be if a rich relative dies...

I thoroughly agree!!! You definitely hit ALL the nails right on their heads.

One of the items that Jim mentioned was being able to do what it takes to purchase a Prowler. Jim and I have both had to do a little creative financing to purchase our cats.

Once you are committed you have to definitely stick to it! The last thing you ever want to have to think about about is having to sell your dream. I will personally do whatever it takes to keep my cat.

Good luck to you junior and I hope the time that you unfortunately have to wait will be very short. You've definitely come to the right place to ask questions and advice. These guys are the GREATEST!!!

Brian

and you hit one as well Brian...
they will have to pry my cold, dead, hands off the steering wheel to get my dream from me...

ed monahanWildcat said he does not have anyone to leave his cars to. ( I am hurt he is not leaving them to me) LOL
Good advise Jim.
I would say join a credit union. Save up a little for a down payment and go back and talk to the credit union. You are not too young to get a loan. Don't go heavily into credit card debt. They will eat you alive over time.
junior420i just wan to say thank you for all the great advice. let me tell you when i see that car parked somewhere i get this feeling inside of me like god damn i love this car. the other day there was a blue one parked at the mall and i left a note on the windshiled asking if it was for sale. even though i knew i couldnt afford it i just had to ask! my friends tell me to get a honda civic etc but this is my car and i built models that took me years to build of this car just to show my appreciation for it. When i do get one i will take loots of picture thnaks!
Lone Ranger

I have wanted a `61~`62 Corvette since I was 14, at your age I had a `72 Challenger 340 4 speed, a `77 Dodge Aspen and a `67 Barracuda Formula "S" 340 4 speed...but I still didn't have my corvette, 27 years later I still do not have my corvette. Yes, I could have one but would have to sell some of my other toys.

If you really want a Prowler:

MAKE A PLAN, figure out how much one will cost, include insurance and upkeep

Decide what is most important, (higher education leads to higher income)

work hard to reach your goal (remember drugs, alcohol and women lead to changes in plans)

You have a lot of years ahead to reach your goals, work hard to get there and you will appreciate it once you get there

My daughter is 23 and has her own house, paid for her own new car (01 PT Cruiser, yes it is paid for) and was manager for over 2 years at place she works. She is very proud of what she has done at her age.

RED5You can do it...I bought my Kat when I turned 24.

I feel the same way you do everytime I see one parked somewhere....I always have to go turn around and check it out.

Randy CobbGreat advice by Jim and Wildcat!

I wanted cars at your age, but chose to defer the gratitude until later in life because I set priorities. Got an education, started a family, got a business and THEN got the toy.
