Well it not's much to look at, just a metallic disc, but some people really like the music on it.

Sorry - just being a smarta$$. I didn't know they existed for almost a year after I bought my car. It seems a lot of the CD's disappeared at dealerships before the cars were delivered

Lone Ranger
As bizarre as this may seem, I actually bought mine at a garage sale.
quincyIs it a music CD or instructional. Either or I did not get one when I bought my Prowler, so would be interested in obtaining a copy. Willing to defray cost of re-production and shipping.
CJquincy.........this is something I posted a long time ago in response to questions about the Prowler cd and thought you might like to read it.....

quote:
With regard to the original Prowler CD:

They did start distributing them with the 97 Prowler. I suspect, because the car just came out and so did the cd, that a lot of them may have gotten "lost" at the dealerships.

They usually put the CD in either the glovebox or the pocket behind the passenger seat. Unfortunately, many of the cds never ended up in the hands of the eventual owners of the Prowler. One can only assume that they went missing between the plant and the owner! I tried many times to obtain these cds from the Conner Plant. At one time, I was told that they only had enough to put in the cars and they would not sell them directly.

Later, DC approached the manufacturer of the original Plymouth Prowler cd to have them change it to a Chrysler Prowler cd. In light of the exorbitant cost quoted to them by the manufacturer, DC elected not to continue production of the cd. They then told me that when they run out of cds to place in the Prowler, the practice would, at that time, be discontinued.

When the end of the Prowler was announced, I immediately asked again, thinking that since the car was supposed to be built for another 18 months, that perhaps they would have some left over that I could obtain to distribute to owners who never got theirs. Unfortunately, I was told that there were no more to be had. I tried, but to no avail.

I believe that they ran out sometime in late 2001. I did not receive one in my 02 Candy Red.

The CD is called: and it looks like this:

The Tale & The Tunes
Plymouth Prowler

The songs on the CD are as follows:

#1 is THE TALE which is speaker talking over RED HOT ROADSTER by the Rip Chords and a bunch of other songs. Don't be Cruel by Cheap Trick. Ruby Baby by Dion. Raw Hide by Link Wray. Kicks by Paul Revere and the Raiders. Hazy Shade of Winter by the Bangles. Classical Gas by Chet Atkins. Snakeskin Cowboys by Ted Nugent. Dueling Banjos by Earl Scruggs/a. Smith. Wild Thing by the Troggs. Dream Baby by the Big O, Roy Orbison. 1812 Overture by Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The best of my love by Tonya Tucker. Someday my Prince will come by Dave Brubeck. King of the Road by Roger Miller. DEATH by the Morbid Tabernacle Choir. That is about it. The first one tells how the car was made and what it is made out of.

Someone asked me once about copying the cd and below was the response. Even though they may not be distributing it at some point, BMI/ASCAP and DC still has copyright and royalty privileges.

"Most music is copyrighted and subject to royalties. DC has licensed the music used on this cd. The license covers one cd for each vehicle produced by DC. The cd carries the following statement:
1997 Sony Music Entertainment Inc.
Manufactured by Sony Music Special Products/550 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10022-3211/"Sony" Reg. U.S. Patent & TM Office/WARNING:All rights reserved. Unauthorized duplication is a violation of applicable laws."

I would say at this point, that any chance of finding one will be on eBay or from someone who has an extra they are willing to sell.

derosajDoes any one know anything about a CD that was made and passed out at some Prowler event for the black tie edition?

I would like to have a copy of the one you have and would be glad to pay for it.

CJThis post was from 2001 re: the Black Tie cd:

PharmKatWhen I picked up the new car, I was pleased to see the prowler CD with the car! Only problem is that it is the case only and no CD inside, so if anyone has a spare I would be interested, and definitely in the Black Tie CD to go with the car. Thanks

sooooooooooooooooooo.... if you didn't GET one with your car, then it should still be covered by the license

SimonsezI have my original and have made copies for some fellow Prowler owners. Since I did not receive payment and did it out of friendship I felt I did not break any copyright laws. Had I received money it may have been a differant situation.
