| wallygator310 | Had a great time as usual with the gang that ended up in Tallahassee. Put more faces (or characters) with names. Finally met Dustis and MsKitty, Bob G., Marty U. and quite a few more. On the way to Tallahassee, the FL Kat Pack made a slight detour to Jasper, FL where a good friend of mine is Postmaster. We were met at the outskirts of town and escorted into a town of 8,000 by the police with lights a-flashin'. How often do we get an escort into town by the police instead of out of town! Well it seemed that all the traffic coming the other way all pulled off the side of the road when the cruiser and the rest of us passed by. What a sight they must have had. The group was somewhat amused by it all too. Really a great side event! Hope everyone involved had a really unique little adventure. I'm sure the townsfolk are still talking about it. Then it was off to Tallahassee and we had a line strung out for a mile going there with about 20 Kats and a couple of Vipers. Thanks Jay and Nancy for all your help and setting up this FUN, FUN, FUN trip. Like to say let's do it again next year but sure that they won't be coming this way again after their close call with a Hurricane!! Coming to FL is always an adventure. | prowlerbabe | Wally, thank you for a memorable side event of another great, well organized road trip from Ocala to Tallahassee. What a sight to see 19 Prowlers single file cruising 74 MPH on I-75!
Driving through Jasper was an event I'll never forget! I don't think I've ever seen so many eyeball popping, smiling faces in one day. Here is a picture of our police escorted cruise through town. Ahead of the police car on the left you can see a car that had pulled off of the road to let us pass. You just have to wonder what was going through their minds when they saw us.

| 392HEMI | Most all the oncoming traffic pulled over as they thought it was a funeral for the one lonely T-Bird just behind the Police !!! Ha! Ha!. What a great trip and TOTAL FUN!!! Report is that there still 200 people in Jasper looking out the front door for "more, more, more" Prowlers.

| wallygator310 | Went back through Jasper, FL again this past Tuesday after picking up the new SSR in GA. Saw the Ed the Postmaster again and we toured more of the town. Really a throwback to the 40's or so. Their claim to fame is that they hung the last person that was hung in FL back in the late 30's I was told that and then saw the old jail and the hangin' tower. Pretty unique and then went over to Live Oak (about 15 minutes away and had dinner at a neat little diner with some great food and cheap too! I could see another side trip there in the future. I have the newspapers from the day we were there and we are on the front page with a picture and a caption. Those of you that were there with us, send me your addresses and I will get a copy of the newspaper out to you as soon as possible as I forgot to get them when we were there. Wally |
| miagm | Wally, Sounds like a real nice return trip with another cool car to a very unique little town. I'll bet a few of the locals were thinking that "hangin tower" was about to get dusted off one more time when the sheriff was escorting several prowlers into the center of town - especially with Prowlerbabe driving along side all of us taking pictures on a two lane road.
