Kraut must be something new. ------------------ Thanks in advance! Dave DaveHoward How accurate is the outside temperature which can be read on the mirror? Also, where is the temperature sensor located . Black Tie 161 Not sure where the sensor is but it's accurate. I see it drop when I get near the cool water...it's very responsive and doesn't spike when parked in hot sun, so the sensor location must be pretty good. ALLEY CAT Howard - sensor is in front of the battery,,,mounted on rounded part of front frame area. Accurate. Kraut I was wondering what that sensor up there is for. Mine is a '97, so I don't have the in-mirror temp indicator. I wonder why I have the sensor. tangled up in BLUE quote:

"On the POA website there is a question on the temperature sensor in front of the battery. That sensor has always been there from 1997 and feeds the ambient air temperature to the engine controller. When the mini trip mirror was introduced for 2000, it was easy since the sensor was already providing the ambient air temperature for the computer."heynow14 Can the mini trip/temp mirror be easily retro fit for the earlier Prowlers without them?~Robert ALLEY CAT Robert - Sorry,,,,no. SuperDave What if I just wanted to use the compass and temperature gauge in my 97, is that possible? I can see that the trip tools would be difficult, but is it possible to get just temp and compass? ALLEY CAT Dave - there are some aftermarket mirrors on the market that show compass direction and possibly temp. Research them out from magazines or internet search. SuperDave Thanks for the reply, AC. I've seen the aftermarket mirrors, but they don't have the same mount as ours. I believe the factory option is the only one. I'll work on it and will see what I can work out...
