St0rmBr1ngerPicked up a 99 yellow today, 50K miles 100K warr. Bone stock, in a little bit rought shape cosmetically but in real good mechanical shape. Never been hit, never seen salt, motor is clean. Drove it ~200 miles today, getting amazing mileage.

Bunch of questions but I am happy to have it home and safe in the garage.

SirRealOUTSTANDING! Enjoy! Good Mileage? WOW & Congrats
tangled up in BLUEpost pictures when you can, or email them to me and I will post them for you if you wish.....congrats, the fun is just beginning...
St0rmBr1ngerWell here is the list of what I need to do.

New battery because the car is starting up slow, its the original and I am suprised it has lasted this long.
(ordered)

Needs a new passenger door release cover on the inside. (ordered)

Needs to be completely clay bar'd, high speed buffed and re-sealed (new pads comming tommorow)

Front left bumber is loose, (going to remove them anyway)

Got to pull my airbrush out and fill in a few of the paint chips (need to order paint)

Need to replace cabin air filters. (Need to order)

Recondition seats (Have all of this stuff) Need to restretch some of the leather and fix one small tear.

Need new front speakers, blwon beyond belief, funny as the rears are not (I think they are standard sizes so I should have a pair in the garage somewhere)

Flames on the front fender (this is a way off)

Need to change oil, change plugs, change wires, flush tranny. (Duhh!)

low tire pressure or bas sensor, will have a better idea tommorow. Will need to reset it more then likely.

Also I forgot to take pictures during the whole thing.

Now the questions.

what octane gas to run?

where plugs should I run?

why am I getting 35mpg on the freeway, if its always that good then I am going to drive the thing to work everyday because my truck gets like 17mpg?

whens the next show?

will post one picture that I took while driving.

Marty Usheruse 91-93 octane - whatever is available. Of all the things you do, don't forget to drive it and let us know how much fun you are having.
Randy CobbCongrats on the yellow!

It seems that you are a hands on guy, so the cosmetic issues should be a snap.

35 mpg seems VERY good. I only get in the low 20s, but I tend to punch it more than I do my daily driver.

Tytanium-KExcellent, Mate...glad U got one--hope the price was to your liking! You will grow to love it more today than yesterday but...yeah...you knew where this was going...
Congrats! Post photos along with smiles to accompany them!

RED5Congrats on your Kat!!!

Make sure you order any parts you need from one of our Prowler friendly dealerships that charge us 10% over thier cost.

ed monahanYour computer print-out may not be totally accurate so I would check the mileage by doing it the old fashioned way. My gauge is so far off, I don't pay attention to it at all.
Congrats on the ride, glad you got one that quickly.
ALLEY CATChanging plug wires??? Those are coil packs above the spark plugs ['99 and newer] >>>> mucho high dollar.

Cabin filter? I know what they are,,,do we have one in a cat?

Welcome aboard,,,,ENJOY THE RIDE

Tytanium-KPS: What's your Significant Other's thoughts about the Kat???
St0rmBr1ngerIt should have one, (cabin filter) it has a recirculate system for heat and air.

Wires snuck in there sorry.

Here is the one picture I snapped with my camera on the way home.

Going to do a lot of searchs over today and tommorow. If I have any more obscure questions I will ask.

pumpkinEnjoy your new ride.

GenoTexbring it on, Storm!

Congratulations.............great color!

St0rmBr1ngerSignificant other is very happy with the car. So far it has the same kind of visual draw and ride style as my old 356. Better seats then my S2000, great gas mileage compared with the cobra. There is heat, and air conditioning and doors. (Two of my other cars you had to jump into them because of the cage's.) Loud enough but not ear blasting. I was comming home on the 405, 80 mph a good chuck of the way and it just floats on the freeway when the road is smooth.
If its rough it feels like my old hotrod. So far it has meet everyone of my expectations.

She is dissapointed that it is not a manual though, and there are no seat warmers in the car which is now a absolute requirement after having them in my F150.

Also she wants to drive it to her high school reunion and show off so I think that this one is a keeper.

We have an Honda S-2000 also.
, great car.

Melissa SantoryCongrats! I'm sure that you'll love the car and have lots of great memories to come. You'll find that the POA folks are the nicest, and I think that the SoCal group is pretty active, so you should hook up with them for activities. Just drive it like crazy!

Also, be sure to get front mud flaps if you don't have them already. Ceramic front brake pads are also highly recommended. We put in Bosch Platinum+4 plugs and have been very happy with them. Your gas mileage is incredible! Granted, we use ours as a daily driver, but we're getting 21-22 mpg. You'll also find that the low tire pressure light is a pretty common thing. There are lots of posts about it. There may not be anything wrong. Some people use the method of hiding it with black tape to maintain their sanity.

xpguyStorm,

You must join us Saturday. We are meeting at the Starbucks downtown then heading over to Seaport Village for the PT Cruiser convention/car show. Right now we have 14 Prowlers signed up, and another Yellow would be great. You will get to see lots of mods and meet some really nice owners. We will also get to act as the judges for the PT Cruisers. See the posts under Event Discussion (Attn San Diegans). Also, drinks at my house Friday night if you are not going to the luau.

Congratulations! Be sure to contact Larry Lord to get on the Southern California list.

See you this weekend!

Guy

St0rmBr1ngerThanks I will try and make it on friday. I can bring a PT cruiser and a prowler if I can. I promised my dad that I would help him clear out the garage and I have a wine & cheese thing later that night but I will do my best to come out.

I have to fly up to LA tonight and then drive my truck back down, and I have a midterm on Friday till 5-10pm but I will miss the dinner but if all goes well I cna sneak out for a little bit this weekend.

I will PM Mr. Lord today.
