rsterling78Has anyone ever thought that it would be nice to have a small window between the rear window and the side window? When changing lanes there is a bit of a blind spot there.

I realize that this would be difficult given the fact that the top folds so much in that area.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of a Prowler being successfully modified to incorporate a couple of small "rear-side" windows?

OrangeThere is a quick fix for what you are looking for:

Put the top down!!!

Fat PatROFL!!
rsterling78Hmmm...put down the top. I hadn't thought about that. LOL!

Okay, how about if it's cold out and I want to drive with the top up?

EDIT:

Here's one possible solution, although it is kind of...um...drastic.

ALLEY CATrs - why not just install blind spot mirrors to your outside mirrors? If you are turning your head to look back into other lanes while changing lanes,,,,someone ahead of you might hit the brakes hard.

Cool idea--needs to be a little lower in the rear.

They do make some really small mirrors that adhere with supplied two sided tape. I agree with AC once again...this should help you out when you have to pass.
As far as an additional window...I feel that is one of the features that makes the Prowler so cool. As you sit back fully in your seat you are virtually hidden from everyone on both sides. That's a pretty cool design feature. JMO
Besides...anyone that wants to admire the cat I'm sure doesn't want to look at my ugly mug!!!

Another simple procedure to alleviate the blind spot is to adjust your mirrors properly and then trust them. It really works.

CJI wonder what the hardtop would look like with a porthole window?
ZackRegarding the blind spot mirrors...they work wonders! I put them on the day I got my car (thanks to the help of Jerry at Woodward).

Either the 2 1/2 or 3" diameter convex mirrors work great. They cover about 1/2 the mirror, but you can still use the uncovered 1/2 of the stock mirror to see what's behind you, but you can safely change lanes without having to look over your shoulder at all. Even when you can see the car right next to you it's still visible in the blind spot mirror!
