| BeWare | I took the Cat out for a short run today. It's been awhile since I drove it last. At least a couple months. Anyway I decided to see how it would perform. I nailed it from a dead stop. It started spinning the tires. After about 10 to 15 feet or so of laying rubber it started getting sideways. The only other time I have experienced this was at the Prowler drags in Texas last June. Back then I chalked it up to the track surface. I wish I could run it through the qaurter in this cool air. I have to find a way of getting cooler air to the motor without modifying the side panels. I don't want to have to re-do our custom paint. I don't want to cut a hole in the hood either. I am going have to think on a solution. How about running a cold air chamber from the AC unit like Ford did with the Lightening F-150? On WOT the AC kicks on and forces cold air into the induction system and they claim an extra 50 HP!Dale |

I ought to be able to spin the tires in all 4 gears, it has been so cold here lately. lol |
| CTProwler | Cold tires on my Viper and its the same result. Only has to be in the 50's-low 60's. 5-10 Wow! It would be like driving on Ice. ------------------

Very likely cold ground and tires contributed but the car felt faster as well. No Ice on the roads Sunday. We had a heat wave and it go up to 42.  |

Using your AC to pump cold air into your air intake is sort self defeating. as soon as you turn on the ac you lose Horsepower.

No heatwave here! Started snowing about 3 hours ago. Already 4-5 inches on the ground. I want to get out of this hell hole and move WAY south. HELP !!! |

Those are non functional stick on. Besides I have custom flames paint job so changing my side panels is not an option. Need to figure a way around the radiator for and air vent intake behind the grille. |
| Marty Usher | I believe I was told that the ECU temporarily shuts down the Air Conditioning compressor at WOT. Maybe someone can confirm that. Just use a small shot of nitrous. It's just cold air mixed with nitrogen. |
| Black Tie 161 | BT tends to spin wheels in cold weather if I don't watch it. Also your tire pressure drops in cooler weather making the tire rely more heavily on the beefed up sidewalls....that explains a lot of wheelspin on top of cold tire tread/ cold asphalt. | Chi_Town_Prowler | WOW!! I thought it was just me that noticed that!! The car actually DOES run quicker in the cool weather. I've taken mine out a few times recently and in the cold Chicago air, it seems like this thing just bolts!! Its the same type of difference that can be felt on a Buick Grand National. When that cold air hits that turbo engine, it just flat WAKES UP AND HAULS!! That was the first thought that hit me when I punched it in my Prowler. It seemed like I was in my Buick. Cold air definitely makes this car perform differently!! |
