I have two of the factoyr bras on both of my trailers and they seem to do just fine but I really want to try the clear 3M type but could never get anyone to committ to installing it for me. Word is they wear well and will last for years, where the factoery one on my first trailor sat outside all the time and seemed to shrink after a couple of years but the second was inside and did just fine, I would advise you not to pull the trailer after the repaint until you have somthing on it or you will chip it real soon and check with the body shop about cure time before adding somthing on the paint. Maybe just put some bubble wrap on it to get her home from the body shop and remove it right away. best of luck what ever you do block-buster ------------------ You will love the trailer for road trips. I was really concerned with the damage to the paint due to the bra. I CAN SEE NO PROBLEM WITH THE PAINT DUE TO THE BRA. There is no clouding from the bra being on it and it has been wet and dried on the trailer (I remove it if wet at home, but on the road it dries on it) There was a company in California that has a color match bra that looks good (Speed Lingerie) if you do not want black, or you could get it painted to match the car then just need to repaint the bra once it gets chipped up. I hardly ever remove the bra off my trailer anymore. I have pulled it in a parade or 2 without the bra, but only at slow speeds you might also want to check in with Larry Lord he is a vender on POA and makes a great line of items for trailers including a stand that will allow for a lot of extra spce inside the grage when useing it will allow for the trailer to stand on its tail and park the Prowler in the same stall among others things. block-buster The nice thing about it is that you can't see it from a couple of feet away and it waxes just like the rest of the paint. It has been on a year now with no problems, cost was about $245 installed. Tom. You might consider the Hi Tech color changing Bra from American Stichco. They have two colors (Green/Purple) & (gold/Magenta). Either one would look much better than the standard black bra...TOM GULYAS OPINIONS WANTED - Need to have our newly acquired trailer painted to match our vehicle, should I have a gravel coat applied to protect the front of the trailer from stone chips etc., and does it really work? or should I just purchase the trailer mask as offered by American Stitchco? What to do there - they make two types I'm interested in. Which one wears the best without damaging the finish on the trailer? They have the black leather finish vinyl (22oz.) or the black carbon fiber vinyl (20oz). Does anyone have an opinion? decisions, decisions, some might think I was a women, well I am - thank you wife of Tom Gulyas (PAM) cmblockhus Hi Pam: Marty Usher Whenever you pull the trailer behind a Prowler, the big rear tires are going to kick up rocks and road debris on to the front of the trailer. I have used the trailer for over 25,000 miles and just keep the bra on it all the time. If it makes the paint cloudy, so what - I am not ever to use the trailer without the bra anyway. Dave Mills I would strongly recommend that you put a bra on the trailer before you move it. When my trailer was delivered to the dealer, I figured I could drive the three miles to my house without the bra. I was wrong. In that short distance I picked up six stone chips. WildCat I would say the bra would be better than the clear rock gaurd because of the rocks being thrown. cmblockhus Pam TLRandall I have the 8mil clear bra on my trailer and have had pretty good luck, but if I were to do it again, I would go with the 12mil thickness. Too many rocks are able to go through the 8mil and still cause a chip. Laddie Roussel quote:

Like others it rarely comes off. The last time I removed it the paint under it looked fine. I have seen a trailer with what I think you mean as gravel coat applied and in my opinion it looked like crap. TOM GULYAS THANKS GUYS FOR ALL THE VALUABLE INFORMATION. THAT'S WHAT MAKES THIS WEB SITE SO GOOD. IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION JUST ASK, THERE'S GOOD PEOPLE WILLING TO GIVE GOOD ADVICE.
THANKS AGAIN, PAM GULYASindy96 Get the bra. Mine's been on since I got the trailer and I have had no problem with the paint. I too only take it off if it gets wet and I'm home. Several coats of wax might help. Larry Lord's accessories are the best. The trailer stand is super and it really saves space.
