I've seen broken ones fly off a cat at highway speeds,,,,,just like a flying saucer, lol. Best to remove and "hot glue",,,let cure for a day, and re-install. Do a search feature on "Hot glue center caps" by MADMAX,,,,,to get the scoop.Bcoffman Gray Ghost I am getting ready to glue 4 of the clips that broke off the center caps. I know to reinforce at the bases with hot glue by building up a thicker amount at the bottom. My question: what kind of glue to reattach at the break? Maybe a model airplane glue (polypropalene)? Or should I use the same hot glue that I'm using for the bases? Is it as strong at the break as the airplane glue? Are there different kinds of hot glue to look for? butchcee I used cyanoacrylate model glue (CA) to tack the broken tabs back in place. There are different viscosities. I used medium thickness with a spray called a kicker to fast cure the glue. The joint is strong, but brittle. I've used the hot glue sticks and industrial silicone for reinforcement. In the long haul, I think the silicone will hold up better if you have the time to wait for it to cure. FL Phil I used the epoxy that has 2 tubes connected together that you squeeze out and is supposed to hold a ridiculous amount of weight. Went to get the name and found out I am out so I got it at Home Depot and will have go back and get some more. I'm sure you know to let that dry for 24 hours then add the hot glue if you want. vipercat Hi, I am a relatively new Prowler owner. I have not had the center caps off yet. Is there something I should know about them?
Thanks much!

vipercat (Y2k Silver Cat) halicat be carefull and keep the glue handy ! i siliconed mine on so i wouldn't loose them..the little clips inside are fragile... toys A big snot of RTV Silicone Works the best, Just let them set at least 24hrs or longer it is very strong, flexible yet very forgiving. and if you screw up it can almost be peeled off or trimed with a razor knife and resiliconed.
I have done lots repairs with it with great success.
toys1buddyc When you take your caps off, use a clothes-pin half and not a screw driver(for the slot between wheel and cap). You'll protect the wheel and have a better "feel" for getting the cap off...Buddy ALLEY CAT quote:

-Jimtoys I just took an old toothbrush handle and taper filed it to fit the the small slot to open it up a little and then used a 2" wide putty knife to pry it off even the rest of the way. And When you pull your center cap if the tabs aren't broken back them with a snot of silicone anyway, by the way i have tried hot gluing them and it sucks. silicone is the best fix.
toysed monahan It also helps to put some liquid soap on them just before putting them on the car. It acts as a lubricant so they slide on a little easier and possibly prevents breaking them again.
