halicatwanted to share some company business with you guys:

our canadian owned company is projected to purchase over $12,000,000.00 worth of american made HDPE pipe and fittings by the end of december.... that figure is for 2004 only ! this is dispite having a a manufacturer in canada that we compete with. we are estimating this figure will approach 20 mil next year.
good news for you guys ehhhh? the downside is that your gain is our countrys loss in the employment aspect.

something else for you guys to be happy about:

nova scotia has one of the largest natural gas deposits in the world and our province is currently shipping via pipeline 55% of our current production to the east coast of the USA for you guys to burn as clean heat...

of course there is a downside:

we are not burning any natural gas to generate power and do not even have ONE home burning it in our province.. its all oil and coal purchased from other countries.. these produce pollution that causes nova scotia to have the highest asthma rate in the country ( both my kids and my wife have it) and our lakes are turning into acid ponds.

its all due to political bungling and resource miss management. ( we don't even want to get into the fisheries and forestry topics).

so the next time a canuk like me gets cranky about some bashing directed his way... please be kind, even if he may deserve it... because somedays it just feels like we get used and the saddest part is thats its our own stupidity that causes it.

damn !! i just realized i posted this in the wrong section... maybe we need a section for dolts !! sorry

tangled up in BLUEthe orders for the products you described have probably been resold to Mexico and Taiwan .....

....understand your feelings, it is the same story here too...if Taiwan closed or sunk to the bottom of the ocean.....the US would be naked and Walmart would be out of business in a day or so....

...pollution is a serious problem....maybe it is time to think about relocating ???....ya got friends here in Indiana....

maybe a nice friendly "visit" to you local politicians office is a good place to start....then drive south and continue your work in DC

CJhalicat..........no one was bashing you personally (or Canada)(a little reprimanding maybe, but no bashing), and everyone has a right to be cranky once in a while, even American citizens.

We're all friends here...........

halicatmy friend,

your understanding and kind words are much appreciated.... i have heard indy has some great people and a beautiful place to live... I have thought of moving back to British Columbia, the rocky mountains are inspiring ...and i miss the skiing and rafting...

our pipe products are used in infrastructure projects for water, sewer and natural gas... we sell in Canada and a little bit in south America. i actually invented a floating dock system that is the best made today..my company hasn't taken it seriously so i may go on my own.. like i need more stress !!

the political frustrations sometimes overwhelm me and my face gets red to match my hair.....

RPLHeck, I work for a Canadian company. This is the age of NAFTA. There's probably more BS here than Canada. When you have a skunk, you call it a skunk and hope that at least one person isn't bitten in the behind like you were. I've already gone through my series of shots.
halicathey bob...

i'm still trying to figure out what smells worse... the skunk , or the skunk repellant.
