rsterling78	I washed my Prowler this morning, rinsing it very well. Now there are water spots that seem literally etched in the windows and body. I've used spot detailer on the body and Windex on the glass, but I can't get the water spots out. Any suggestions?
halicat	i have the same prob with my black cat.... the Mr Clean Auto Dry Car Wash thingy works pretty well but there is nothing like drying by hand with a soft bath towel... my car has been Zaino'd and it is way easier to dry super clean now . for the windows i've been using Gunk Foam Glass cleaner but just spray onto a cloth and wipe on as opposed to spray right on the window and deal with the overspray on the body..
BuckNekkid	I have insanely hard water where I live too. When I first moved here, the first time I washed my (black) Viper I thought I was gonna die. Never seen mineral deposits like that in my life. Luckily, I found a great solution - get yourself one of the new Mr. Clean spot free car washing dealies. It has a special soap with polymers and a filter in it that deionizes the water, and gets rid of the spotting problem completely. As a fringe benefit, you don't even have to dry the car if you don't want to - just rinse it and it dries spot free. Pretty cool stuff. And it actually works In the meantime, a good waxing (including the glass) should get rid of the water spots/mineral deposits. I don't know of any other way that works as well. Hope that helps

catfish	rewashing it,wont remove the spots 99% of the time.if wont come, out you will have to buff it.clear coat paint is very soft.the sun magnifies the water spot and etches it in the clearcoat.wax will not ususally remove it. ------------------ This message has been edited by jan bruggeman on 09-26-2004 at 04:43 PM
CWatsonJr	We have pretty hard water here too. What I do is after I wash it - I use ProtectAll on everything. I'm spending more time washing this car than driving it. I work six days a week and go into the office to get a leg up on the week on Sundays. I've only got a few hours a week to enjoy my Prowler. Today, I took my Durango to the auto supply store (I only had to go to three of them to get what I needed) and shelled out money for wax and other supplies. I'll just add these to the now rather extensive (and expensive) collection of car maintenance products I've got for my Prowler. I hate to say this but I'm actually starting to regret buying a Prowler. I've never owned a car that was half as hard to keep clean and free of streaks and water spots as this thing.
whealy	Tried the Mr. Clean thing even though I wash with water softened water. Not only is my garage hose bib running through the water softener, our community water softens our water. With all that, I had more probelms with the Mr. Clean than without. To each his own. But if you want to remove water spots, clean without washing, try this stuff. Been using it for a couple years just for that purpose. Works great.
catfish	i've never used the mr.clean thing,was questionable to me, when it came out,a friend who bought one says its a piece of crap that doesnt work. ------------------

bbcar	I would suggest washing as the sun sets that way the car is not in direct sunlight and the water will not dry as fast. Just use any name brand car wash soap and keep some terry towels close by so when your done rinsing you can dry it off. Once you get a system going it wont be a big deal to wash your Prowler. If you take care of any car properly it IS work, most Prowler owners see it as a labor of love. The finished product makes it all worth it. Sorry your first experience was not a good one, it will get a lot better with time and pratice. Barry
CWatsonJr	I don't get it! Why spend all that extra money and time on all the detailer products and special gizmos when you can buy a $6 bottle of ProtectAll (that will last 30 or so washings) and spend an extra 10 minutes wiping down the car and having it look great? There must be something I am missing here!
Bcoffman Gray Ghost	Usually it is the lime and other minerals in the water that causes the spots. Get the water off quickly to stop spotting. Only wash in the shade to slow evaporation. A little vinegar will disolve the lime deposits.
Marty Usher	Here I go again, being different that most of the people posting. I totally appreciate and like the looks of my Prowler when it is clean. On the otherhand, I can't understand (but mean no disrespect to anyone) obsessing to the point that it bothers me so much that I can't drive the car. If I felt that way, I would sell it, period. Then maybe buy a Prowler in a color that doesn't show spots as much as my black one. I agree with Cliff about the ProtectAll. It works great for regular use. I usually try to either get the car detailed for the first POA event of the year or every 30,000 miles, or do a thorough cleaning/polishing myself at that time and then wash and use ProtectAll the rest of the time. The point of these cars is to have fun. I know some people actually enjoy the washing/detailing process. For them - great. For me, it's all about driving it - clean if I have time, but dirty if it has to be that way.
Randy Cobb	I try not to wash mine in direct sunlight in the heat of the day. I don't use a spray nozzle and have a leaf blower close by to blow off the water before I towel dry. The leaf blower works great! ------------------
Black Tie 161	Water spots can come out with some scratch remover then waxed over. I can get my car very clean in under an hour...learn to do quick washes and you won't be so disgusted the next time the car gets dirty.
