keesAfter thorough checking by CJ & Bob my car left Roseville
yesterday and is finally on it's way to The Netherlands.
Including some of the basic goodies like mud flaps, air
patrol, hinge protectors, wonder bar etc.

Of course I will keep you posted on arrival, my first
driving experiences and the effects it has on people
here in Holland. There are only 2 or 3 Prowlers in Holland
so it must be an interesting experience.

Thanks to all of you who helped me over the last weeks.

Best regards,

Kees Engel

CJCongratulations!!! I hope that the transport goes well. You must be so excited! Make sure you take lots of pictures when it gets there........do you know approximately when it should arrive?
Black Tie 161You'll be a rare sight there.

Congrats and enjoy your new celebrity status!

ALLEY CATKEES - CONGRATS on the new cat,,,,you'll be a hit when it arrives. Just in time for winter storage?

ENJOY THE RIDE

pumpkinKees- Enjoy. What is a price for gas in Holland?

"I may have to grow older, but I do not have to grow up!"

"The Prowler is not a car to go from Point A to Point B. The Prowler is the Point!"

BeWareCongrats on the new Kat. Just curious what is the transit time to Holland?
keesThanks for your encouraging comments and I'm very
excited indeed. It will arrive in the week of
11 October and don't worry I will take lot's of pic's.

And then the price of gas.............

Very good question so let me show you how lucky you are
in the US:

Bought the vehicle for 35 KUS$
Add to that 2500 US$ on shipping, 10 % import duties,
19 % VAT over transport, sell price and import duties,
certification 2500 US$ and finally 22.4% luxury tax over
the original new vehicle ticket price. (it's getting less
if the car is older)
Makes a total of appr. 55KUS$ before I'm even allowed to
drive it.

Then gas.................... that's easy after all the
above taxes and given this is not and old HEMY or V8,

appr. 5 US$/Gallon.

Best regards,

Kees

keesP.S.,

Before I forget............ I'm already practicing for the
Tom Cruise looks and bought the Jack Nickelson sunglasses
to enjoy my celebrity status while crusing down the coast
line (in between the rainshowers in October).

DR PROWLERIt must be a thrill knowing you'll be one of the few fortunate owners to have the coolest car on the planet!
Post some pics...with the windmills in the background perhaps....Amsterdam is one of my favorite places travelled to.
Congrats!

Jim R.Kees

Where do you live in the Netherlands. I'm am over there about every 6 weeks. I travel to The Hague.

Let me know maybe we can get together over dinner some time.

Jim R

keesWill post some pics with a couple of typical dutch
backgrounds in due time. With windmills and some shots of
A'dam centre.

Jim, good idea, I live close to The Hague. Let me know when
you are over next and I will arrange something in The Hague
or somewhere close. Please sent me a PM.

Best regards,

Kees

DUSTIThat's awesome kees !!

....I can't get over all the additional cost that will occur once your car gets there !? About $ 20K !! That's outrageous - just unbelievable !

------------------

DUSTI says......relax !

CJIn spite of the extra $$........you must feel that the Prowler was worth it.........and I'm sure it will be once you get it. You will definitely be a celebrity. Maybe you should be purchasing some of the little diecast Prowlers to hand out to the kids around there!
keesCJ, thanks and you are right. From the moment I saw
the drawings I thought it was a spectacular design but
being only for the US market I thought at that time I would
wait until the model matured and introduction and
production problems would be over. And then you have a
couple of years in between where you have good intensions
but you just do not make the decision to buy one although
you keep on seeing it everytime you fly over to Chicago
to remind you it is still a beautiful car.
Then the comments and enthusiasm of all here and the
conversation I had with an owner of the Yellow Chicago
Prowler made me finally deside that this would be the right
moment........... the rest of the story you know......

In a nuttshell ... yes I'm very exited and eager to drive
it and as for the extra $$, they come on every car in
Holland so that's a fact of life living here.

Best regards,

Kees

ZackKees,

Congrats again...I can sympathize with your being anxious to get your Kat. I waited a couple of weeks after buying mine to fly and pick it up....it was a long two weeks! Trust me, you won't be disappointed...it's definately worth the wait. CJ and Bob were a great help to both of us...we sure got lucky to find them! Take care and enjoy it. I can't wait to see the pics...and your "ear to ear smile"

Bob HackerKees,
Congrats on your new Prowler, you will love it.
Bob & Colleen
