CJWell, it was an interesting day here in Rochester Hills. Started the day by having breakfast with Marc Scarbeary, John Davies and WildBill. Of course, the only reason they called me was because they got lost looking for the restaurant! Marc decided he wanted to get a front end alignment on his cat. So, we headed to Belle Tire to drop off Marc's cat. Now, everyone knows how gullible Marc is, so we all decided to mess with him a bit. Marc had to take the center caps off his wheels, so after carefully removing them, WildBill convinced him that he needed to mark them so he would know which one went back on which wheel. Marc took a pen and identified them on the inside of the cap as Right Front, Left Front, Right Rear and Left Rear. lol!

From there, we went to an automotive shop to pick up some things. Dropped Marc back at the tire place and the rest of us headed for my house for car clean up. After lunch, which was provided by CJ's Catering Company, the guys finished cleaning up the cats.........Marc always needing more help than anyone else. Yes, I refused to clean his wheels....

From there, I led them back to the hotel and Bill and I went to pick up my project from Kinko's. By that time, it was time to go get John and make my second trip to the airport (in two days) to pick up Patty. Marc and Bill decided they needed a nap! After picking up Patty, we headed back to the hotel to get Marc, Bill and Bob. We went to Applebees for a quick dinner so we could head out to Woodward. There was the usual blah, blah, blah, blah, blah from Marc.............now that I think about it, no one else got more than a couple words into the conversation!!!

Marc "I don't know how to stop talking" Scarbeary

Patty Cardwell had a very long airplane ride!!

John "I'm so geeked to be here" Davies......and NO my car is not slow!

WildBill Simulcik is thinkin' "Does this guy ever shut up?"

CJ's telling Marc to just keep it under his hat!

Marc's attempt a keeping CJ under his hat!

CJWell, the group decided that it was time to quit talking, quit eating and get out to Woodward.

So we headed back to the Homestead (hotel, not Marc's spread in Colorado) to pick up the purple and silver cats and then to CJ and Bob's house to pick up the RUMBLER. We'd had a few rain sprinkles, but it looked like it was going to stay clear for a while.

We were all excited about the RUMBLER'S first venture out and very first cruise........the car sounded awesom and it was one heck of a ride. WildBill and I joined Bob in the RUMBLER. There was a lot of looks and one guy gave him a thumbs up and said "That's one beautiful baby" or something like that! lol! It was so loud, it was hard to hear. We headed for Woodward!

Bob grinnin'

Patty and John cruisin' Woodward

Marc cruisin' on Woodward

Things were going great until the RUMBLER started having problems..........again! It started spitting anti-freeze again, so Bob managed to get it into a turn lane and Marc, John and Bill and Bob pushed the RUMBLER (with me steering) across the street into a parking lot. Almost immediately a police officer pulled in to see if we needed help. He called a tow truck for us and we sent the rest of the group back to cruise Woodward. Just about the time the tow truck arrived, it started to pour rain! We got it loaded on a flatbed and hauled it home to the garage. Bob says it threw the distributor gear again and it's dead. He's not a happy camper and it will be going back to Wisconsin for the engine builder to fix it. Apparantly, it wasn't right when it got brought back here. Bob and I are so disappointed that he didn't get it down to 13 and Woodward. DC was going to put it in their display. We're really bummed out about it. Bob commented that there was one good thing about the Prowlers............they don't break down like the old hot rods do. It will miss this Dream Cruise, like the last two years but you can bet it will be back next year.

Well, it's 2:00 a.m. and I just realized that I'm tired. Have lots to do tomorrow......more people arriving tomorrow and hoping that there will be no rain so we can do some more cruising!

Until tomorrow night...............CJ

ed monahanHow was the weather up there today?
Looks like you are having fun without us. See everyone tomorrow, late afternoon.
513 678-1934 is my cell if you all are going out to eat dinner.
Marc screwed up by not marking which of the five points went into which groove on the rim. It will be out of balance, now.
Al's ProwlerCJ, Thanks for the pics, that's terrible about Bob's RUMBLER...the engine builder from Wisconsin should fly in ( at his expense ) and get that car fixed so Bob can cruise with the rest of you.

Al

Marty UsherCJ - I am REALLY sorry to hear about the Rumbler. I can only imagine how Bob feels.

From looking at the l;atest weatrher forcast looks like Friday may be the only day we may get some showers - only 20% chance on Thursday, Sat and Sunday.!!!!!

WE'll be leaving in about an hour. See everyone soon.

Bob HackerWell we will be leaving around 1:00 pm CDT which should get us there about 8:00 pm EDT see you all there.

Bob HarderCJ,

THANKS so much for your updates and pix about the Dream Cruise...many of us out here on the 'left coast' hope we can get back there one day to join you...

Your GREAT narrative, photos and photo captions are priceless! They should be printed out (or converted to pdf) for us all to enjoy for many years (and to help us spot that Marc character you write about if we ever run into him!!).

thedqmanThank you for the update.
