Best cars of all times??????????????????? Top 10 of the 20th century????????????????????

Marty UsherCoooool article.
Orange#1: Prowler

It was getting late in the twentieth century, and America was being surrounded by "bubble" cars. These were rounded blobs of sheet metal with (seemingly) the soul purpose of low drag coefficient and good gas mileage. Understandably, Americans were starting to groan. Then came along the Plymouth Prowler, every hot rodder's dream.

The Prowler has earned the number one spot for starting an automotive revolution in the American automotive industry. For years automotive enthusiasts lobbied for cars that revisited the past. Chrysler became the first to try it out, and the Plymouth Prowler concept car was born.

The concept car became so overwhelmingly popular that it was put into production almost intact. They sold like hot cakes and remain extremely popular, albeit under the Chrysler moniker. This spawned a whole new niche in the automotive market. Thanks to the Prowler, we now have the Ford Thunderbird back (albeit a little too cutesy for me). The next Ford Mustang revamp promises to revisit the sixties. The next Firebird and Camaro will also revisit the 1969 model year. The vaunted GTO is to return to the Pontiac line up, based on the body of an Australian produced Pontiac. Chevy is gearing up for production of a '50s style pick-up truck with, of all things, a convertible hard top. Also in development is a rehash of the Bel Air, styled of course after the '57 model year. Buick's brought back the infamous porthole fenders of old on one of its models. Chrysler was even planning to revive the beloved Dodge Charger until economic woes killed the project.

So what's it all mean? Not since the Model T Ford has one car spawned such an automotive revolution. The Prowler single-handedly changed the concepts and ideas of which direction automotive styling was going and delighted millions of car buyers. For being such a powerful influence, the Plymouth Prowler stands as the number one car of the twentieth century, now available in different colours.
