I have another newbie question. or just the 3/36 ? -GRROWL Call 800-521-9922 with the VIN# and have the in-service date ready, to verify. That office goes to lunch around noon ETime and nobody answers the phone for over an hour. These people will tell you what is left on the original warranty, if any OR if any extended warranty is current or available. This message has been edited by ALLEY CAT on 04-28-2004 at 09:45 PM Damon. The question asked was about the powertrain warrantee, not the extended warrantee. The powertrain warranties, with both 7/100 and 7/70 having been included at various times, are not "warranties" and you need to speak the language. BTW, Chrysler Customer Service is ALWAYS OUT TO LUNCH. -GRROWL Up through October '01: Nov '01 to July 9, 2002 purchased 7/9/02 or later: I'm not going to get into the definition of "purchased". It probably means the "in-service date", so be careful. My point is, if you ask about "warranties", it's likely that you're not going to be offered information on the "Powertrain Pledge". -GRROWL My answer was concerning the 7yr powertrain "agreement".... whatever it is... If it's not a warrantee, then I don't know what it is.... I'll just call it an agreement to be generic. I did not buy an "extended" warrantee. I've never heard of the powertrain "pledge". Now you're making me go find my paperwork... lol... You can call it whatever you want, but if it's not the right language, the manufacturer may not acknowledge it. O.K., here's a real, honest-to-goodness story from one of the MAJOR domestic car manufacturers. I bought a car with the usual 3 year/36 month warranty. After 36,000 miles, but before 50,000 miles, I called customer service and asked if there was a recall or extended warranty on the power-steering rack-and-pinion, which was freezing up and a commonly reported problem on that line of cars. I was told that there wasn't. A year or so later, I received a postcard that they were now covering the steering problem for up to 5 years/50,000 miles. I called and asked if I was covered (no, I wasn't, since it was now after 50,000 miles and my phone call prior to 50,000 miles didn't qualify). I asked why I was told that there was no extended warranty on the steering when I called during the coverage period. I was told, "WE DON'T HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE STEERING, IT'S AN ADVISORY". I was then told if I had asked about an "Advisory" on the steering, they would have replaced it at no charge (rather than the $700 it cost me). Really, truly, I'm not making this up. Again, if you ask about an "extended warranty", they're likely to not tell you about a "powertrain pledge". -GRROWL Nothing like word games to save them money...bastids...Want one Thanks everyone for your responses.
Did the prowlers come with the standard 3/36 bumper to bumper and the 7/70 drivetrain.ssknar I checked the warranty manual.
Only coverage after the 3/36 is Corrosion and Emission related issues. Have to get the extended warranty for anything else.DRFoster I think it depends when you bought it. Don't know the specifics of cutoff dates, but I bought my 01 Mulholland in Oct. 02 and it came with the 7/70,000 drive train warranty. I upgraded that to a 7/75,000 MaxCare. GRROWL The base warranty is 3/36 bumper-to-bumper. Depending upon the in-service date, there have been 7/100 and 7/70 powertrain coverages. Be careful, they're not called "warranties" and the dealer or Chrysler may tell you that you only have a 3/36 "warranty", which is technically correct. Search for "warrant" posted by "GRROWL" since I have posted more specifics in the past. ALLEY CAT To verify "any" warranty left on a car:

Call 911 - there is a Prowler in my garage....
Y2K Silver Millennium Edition and '01 Orange Rolex Edition
LARRY SALZMAN - MESA, ARIZONACatDude If I remember the warranty correctly - it is only transferrable from the original owner. Also the transfer must occur at the time of sale, otherwise the transfer is not valid. Make sure that you read the warranty. The transfer does not happen automatically... It has been a while since I have read it, but I believe this is correct info... tz1238 The original warranty ( 3/36 ) automatically transfers to the new owner. Damon is correct ,any extended warranty must be transfered at time of sale. This transfer is a one time only deal with the orginal owner. You have to take the paperwork to a Chrysler dealer and pay $150.00 to transfer it. ALLEY CAT If I remember right,,,,,if the original owner paid for the extended warranty, they "must" sign off the transfer paperwork of the extended warranty to enable the transfer to take place, plus the $150. Otherwise, the original purchaser of the extended warranty could apply for a refund of the unused portion. GRROWL AC, VCD, tz, GRROWL Here's the scoop:
