You have some reading to do... All the information you want is at this site. There are many answers to some of your questions and much more... Make sure you take advantage of the search engine. 1) best year... mostly there are subtle differences from year to year. Doesn't matter that much. What color do you want? This will limit your choices to 1 or 2 years in most cases. If you want a more rare prowler, check this thread: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/009950.html . 2) for mod, most would say to replace the front brake pads with dust-free pads - to keep the break dust to a minimum (and wheels clean). 3) handling... have had no problems. I routinely take curves posted at 20 mph at 40,50 mph... Basically, car handles better than I can drive. 4) here is where we live: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/009213.html welcome to POA... ------------------ ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! ------------------ Thanks for all the responses. I am doing more research and have a few more people to talk to but the more I look at the Prowler the more I MUST HAVE ONE. Unfortunately it means getting rid of my Porsche as I cannot justify having both. Or maybe I can...MMMMMMPierre I am interested in purchasing a Prowler. I saw the Prowler group at the Goodguys show in Pleasanton this past weekend and was able to get some great information. I need more. Which is the best year to buy and why? What would be the first perfomance modification you would make and why? How do they handle when pushed hard? Why do all the Prowler owners live in Texas....just kidding. CatDude quote:

I'm almost always at the group display-I'm the one with the Black Kat with the trailer and the double tent display. Name is Scott Curtis-aka. Obi-Wan. I talked to a hole lot of people out there. If you have any specific questions please e-mail or call me 650-967-3609 and leave a message-I'll get back to you. I always suggest a 2000 or later( not trying to pick on the early ones-it's just my own pick. I woulden't pay more then 40,ooo for A new one. CJ can really help you there with the list of Dealers that have new-never reg. ones. I highly recommend the extended warrantees' especially if your not mech. adept. Used ones are listed under the for sale section here. Good luck and don't be afraid to contact me or other knowledgeable folks before you buy. I think you'll love the car-I think there terrific, but I realize I'm slightly warped. Obi-Wan
