wuzzzerHello everyone! I don't know if you remember me at all, but I had rented a Prowler a couple of years ago for my wedding and was fortunate enough to be able to rent one in 2003 also.
Well, looks like I won't be as lucky this year. Bills are piling up and my wife just can't justify me spending the money. I keep telling her, "It's a lot cheaper than owning one!!"
Anyway, just wanted to drop a line and say hey.

Saw a review of the new Chevy SSR on SpeedVision. The announcer compared the SSR to the Prowler somewhat. I've seen the SSR in person and in print. Let me tell you, I'd choose the Prowler hands down any day over the SSR!

ed monahanGlad you had some enjoyment out of the Prowler. You'll be back. Thanks for stopping by. Start saving your money now, you can buy one pretty cheaply at this point but sooner or later the price will start to go back up.
Gary CHey Welcome back, I sure do remember, we can wait a long time till you get one but until then join in.

Was your second time in the Prowler???

idiveI remember... I wish you and your wife a happy anniversary, whether with, or without of a Prowler!
wuzzzerYes, for my anniversary in 2003 I rented the same Prowler.
It was even more fun than when I had it the 1st time, since I had more time to drive/cruise/enjoy it.
Had tons of waves, honks, smiles from other drivers. A co-worker of mine needed to bring his car home on his break and we were on break at the same time so I followed behind him in the Prowler and then he rode back to work with me. He said that on the way to his house he kept looking at the people in the cars that were driving by us and there was one time that there was a mom driving a van full of kids, and all the kids starting screaming and pointing out the window at the Prowler.
A passenger in a pickup rolled his window down and said "Oh my God you have my dream car, even the right color!" They followed alongside us for about a mile and he kept asking me things like "How fast have you had it?" I told him not too fast and he said "I see, gotta baby it, huh?" I just smiled. Of course I wasn't going to tell him it was a rental!
Another guy I know just happened to see me driving the Prowler both times that I had it, and he made some comment to a friend of mine about how it must be nice to have a car like mine. He said "You mean a Taurus??" He had a good laugh when he realized it was rented both times he saw me.
I guess I can say without a doubt that for how much I loved the Prowler when it came out (in fact when Motor Trend did it's first cover story write-up on the Prowler, I had a letter to the editor published in their magazine a couple of issues after the Prowler issue was released...some of you may still have the issue...I know I do!) and still love it, I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd ever have the privilege of driving one. Even if I never drive one again, I can say that it was the most enjoyable driving experience I've ever had and probably will ever have. That is, unless somebody hands me the keys to my very own Prowler some day.
BeWareGreat story. I hope some day you can find a way to own one.
CJHang in there and hopefully, someday soon you will be able to buy your dream car. Took me 32 years of marriage to get my first one!! 35 years for the second. It was worth waiting for!

Here is a link to your original post.....

Wuzzer's upcoming marriage and renting a Prowler

wuzzzerCool, thanks for putting up a link to my original post! Man, it's hard to believe it's already been over a year and a half since I've been married!
Steven R. GaryYou bet I remember you talking about renting the Prowler for the wedding. It is a wnderful car and you are right about "Smiles per miles". Keep plugging away at the bills and some day you will have both> "Best wife ever and a Prowler all in one car."
