KlasKatHi everyone. As you know I have had the same problem that several other Prowlers have had and that is the gas gauge shows only 3/4 full right after filling it. I have had it into the dealer 5 times now to have it fixed. They have changed out the computer chip, the gas gauge and several other things with no success. After reviewing this problem on this sight I noticed one owner took his in and they replaced the fuel control valve pkg # 15093967AA. and it fixed the problem. I have been trying to get my dealer to do this and they said they had to go through these other things to eliminate them first per Chrysler. What SH$T!!!
Now they have finally got the part in after another 2 weeks waiting and I take it in and they call me back this morning and now tell me that to put this part in they have to take out the transmission and that will take 2 or 3 days to do. I just can not believe this, so I just wanted to check with those of you who are real Prowler Pros if you think this is correct or do I need to call another dealer?
After talking with the dealer again this afternoon, he did say there is a shorter way of getting to the part and that is by cutting a hole into the trunk to get to it and some other dealers might do that but he prefers to just drop the tranny, to get to the part and do it correctly. I guess we shall see if this fixes the problem and if it does I will post. Keep your fingers crossed. Thanks

I remember getting the passenger side front fender replaced (and repainted ) because one of the flap attachments was missing. Looking back on it...it was a really Bad Decision.

Before you authorize someone cutting a hole in the tub or removing the transaxle...I'd be SURE "the veiw is worth the climb".

ALLEY CATI've been in the "search" areas looking for a post that stated that a technician with thin, long arms was able to replace some part on top of the fuel tank. Can't find that post. This mechanic eliminated the need to drop tranny or cut any holes in trunk. Maybe somebody remembers who it was?

We also have this problem with our orange cat, and need the fix. Tired of guesses.

All the searches on fuel tanks, fuel gauges, gas problems, etc. didn't find it for me Something about cutting a hole in somebody's trunk,,,but first they tried a young technician with long, skinny arm and he got the item replaced without them needing to cut anything. As I recall.
GenoTexLarry...........the best I could come up with was a search on 'skinny'.. with not quite the expected results... but nonetheless a real memory jolt

KlasKatLarry, thanks for the number for the tech in Ontario, I'll call monday. If this works I would hope that DC will let all their techs know what they need to do to get it fixed. We shall see what happens and let everyone know about Wednesday when I get it back.
MDProwlerI believe the post you are all refering to was a tech with a skinny arm to replace a cracked hose that was leaking fuel. It all started with the smell of gas when starting the engine or something like that.

Randy CobbThe post you may be referring to is the one describing the problem I had in Nov. '03 with a leaking vac. hose.

My service engine light came on and the car would not pass the emissions test.

I described the problem and how the DC protocol to repair the hose was to remove the transaxle, but a Prowler owner on POA said to just have a tech with a skinny arm get to the hose without removing the transaxle or cutting a hole through the trunk.
