This message has been edited by ed monahan on 12-22-2003 at 05:53 PM FL Phil Yes, it's true, 5 members from the Northern California POA adopted a 1936 Cord Experimental Limousine. The vehicle is on display at the National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada in Gallery 3. If anyone in the Reno Area can take a picture and send it to me or post on this site we would be appreciative as the earliest we can get there is on the Reno Fun Train March 5, 2004. idive I have a friend in Reno that might be able to get a pic. I'll check with her and let you know.

Not the exact car, but I think you get the idea http://www.theguildofautomotiverestorers.com/1936_Cord.htm CJ Congratulations to all the new, proud parents!!! GenoTex As "surfing" sometimes does, here is another project of theirs I found... ALLEY CAT Congratulations to those Nor-Cal members for making this adoption possible. To you, a great deal of appreciation is deserved for showing your interest in preserving the classics of time and presenting the automobile enthusiasm that is shared within the POA community. jd2ksilver Your right Larry, I know it may seem weird, but I'm pretty proud.
Phil, don't forget Patty is into this too. She has a daughter in Reno, so we may be seeing it often.
FL Phil Thanks Mickey, the National Automobile Museum in Reno is a great place to vist if you get a chance. ed monahan Sorry that I do not know what "Adopting" means in this case. Someone give me the basic facts or general facts, please.
The tail end of the PTS video shows a bunch of Cords, Auburns and Deusenbergs. Really classic and beatutiful.jd2ksilver Adopting meant that we contribute a yearly sum to help with the restoration. Not a huge amount, but something to help it on it's way. We had a list of cars to choose from and we picked this one. By doing so, there is one anytime free pass(I believe) to the museum. And newsletters etc. This is the same museum that basically gave our prowler group free run of the place, including dinner a month or so ago. Every venue needs a little help to keep its operating cost down.
You may not believe this of me, but I also contribute to the San Jose Ballet and American Music Theater of San Jose, along with the season tickets.CJ quote:

My son is part of a very elite group of Special Ops soldiers........very tough guy.....and he loves animals. There should be more of us like that.......maybe the world wouldn't be in the mess it is. ed monahan Thanks JD and congrats to all involved. A worthy cause.
