This turned out to be the artwork (Grrowl/cat) from my new hardtop-sized decklid protector reflecting off the rear window (it reads correctly since it's a double-reversal - it's a mirror-image of a reflection). If you're considering a decklid protector for your hardtop, you might want to consider adding artwork ("Prowler", cat figure, custom) and using a contrasting color to your prowler. It's a wonderful (and unexpected) effect. -GRROWL Later This message has been edited by Nasty Cat on 11-23-2003 at 01:03 PM I was abruptly awakened on Saturday morning with what sounded like a missile hitting the house. This is what I found in the middle of the bay window - a ghost image of a bird. Went out a couple of hours later, and no body was to be found. Obviously, Ghost GRROWL attracted a ghost bird. -GRROWL This message has been edited by GRROWL on 08-30-2004 at 09:12 PM Just wanna make sure I don't move there toooo spooky for me ! Our friends, who have a home in the mountains, hang bright colored grosgrain ribbons from the top of the windows. The wind/breezes move the ribbons around enough to scare them away from the windows. -GRROWL You would think he would at least be smart enough to avoid the oncoming bird! ------------------ I'm sure the viper was only going 50-60 MPH ONLY if you stay on YOUR END of the couch.GRROWL I figured it was time to put the hardtop on for the season, and the first time I drove with it I thought I saw a ghost in the rearview mirror: Nasty Cat spooky
Thanks for sharing Black Tie 161 Cool GRROWWL! You got the pic! That's some creepy stuff! GRROWL Ghost Image - Part II DUSTI Where do you live, Grrrowl ?? BeWare I can't imagine the bird hit that hard and lived. A cat likely walked off with the body. ed monahan Rich, where I used to live I would have birds hit the sliding glass doors every couple of months. They would be stunned and I thought they were dead. Fifteen to 20 minutes later, they flew off. There must be some type of powder on the feathers since you could always see the outline. They make quite a racket when they hit. I lived a couple hundred feet above the Ohio River and had a lot of bird feeders. A lot of gold finches, Cardinals and house wrens. The wrens used to nest in the hanging baskets just outside the door. I would water the hanging baskets and the dang things would fly out and scare the heck out of me. They ruined a lot of begonia plants every year. CJ We have birds hit the windows up at the cottage on a reguar basis. I hate that. Fortunately, we haven't found any dead ones......for the most part they are stunned and after a few minutes, they fly away. idive and for all the newbies over the past year, here's my little visitor...
http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/002977.html GenoTex Ever think about suncatchers or decals for your windows? The problem with birds flying into glass is quite simply that they dont see it..... A decal, or something to break the surface helps avoid this... ed monahan Geno, I had a full curtain and they would still hit it. Had a couple of large suncatchers on the other side and they still hit it. The first time it happened I couldn't imagine what it was. Loud. GRROWL quote:

Actually, I went the other way. The window started off with a decorative grid inside to make it look like 16 small windows. When it cracked, I replaced it with plain glass - I couldn't see paying the price for a BIG piece of double-pane glass only to make it look like a bunch of small panes.Black Tie 161 I had a parakeet fly into mirrors all the time. DR PROWLER That's totally wild....in a spooky kinda way!
Can we sit down and watch a horror flick together sometime?Blue Bullet I know a guy here in Houston who hit a large turkey vulture with the windshield of his pickup. It completely smashed the windshield in about 10 inches deep and about 18-24 inches diameter. The bird tumbled to the ground and a few minutes later FLEW AWAY!!! GRROWL quote:
