GRROWLWith the many problems reported concerning the gas gauge, this seems to be an ingenious $10 item uniquely suited to the prowler with it's 1.8 cubic foot trunk:

Thoughts?

CJInteresting..........almost too simple!!!
KrautFor this to be of any value, one would have to carry it around full of fuel in the trunk. Talk about a disaster waiting to happen .............
CTProwlerI have to agree with kraut. I have room in my other car trunks but don't carry an extra gas can. Most gas stations will have a can to borrow if you run out. In 33 years of driving i've never ran out! If your gas gauge gets to 1/4 fill it up. Thats another thing, I've never stopped for gas and didn't fill it up! If my gas gauge is off that much that i had to worry constantly about fuel i'd get it fixed asap. It couldn't hurt to have in the trunk, i just don't think i'd ever use it.

GRROWL"A Gas-O-Haul takes up very little space in the trunk or under a seat, but in an emergency it transforms into a temporary, one-gallon gas container, complete with pouring nozzle. Fill it up at the station, take it back to your car, and off you go!"

KenGIf you set your trip odometer to zero everytime you fill up and then fill up every 150 miles, you will never have to worry about it! Who cares what the gage says.
Gary CSteve, i understood where you were coming from, great idea, I ran out once in Prowler, 3 hour wait.

How are the tires working? Work good in the rain....

Putting a set on the Lexus.

Tires are GRReat in the rain, just about the same handling on dry as the old ones (just SLIGHTLY noisier). Since I only use them in snow, ice, rain, they should work out perfectly for year-round use since I'll only be using them less than 5,000 miles/year. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SNOW AND ICE! (???)

P.S. - This is referring to Michelin Arctic Alpins on a 98 Firebird based on Gary's experience with them.

Gary CAlso they work great in the rain,,,,,,,
ed monahan$ 19.95 for a gas can? You can buy a cheap plastic one that takes up the same amount of room. One gallon is one gallon. Use an old milk bottle and take a small funnel with you. Everytthing will eventually smell like gas, by the way.

You didn't believe me when I said $10.00? At that price, I'd throw it out after one use to avoid the smell.
