I do know you can get the bra form the same company that made them for Chrysler. Contact Info American Stitchco, Inc The where very helpful when I talked to them on the phone and had bras in stock. There is a bra available from American Stitcho This message has been edited by BeWare on 11-11-2003 at 04:22 PM Good luck,,,,,and stay way behind the vehicles in front of you when possible. So wear bra and do not worry. The longest I have left bra on was 5 days at CTC this year. Rained 3 of the 5 days. Jim So wear bra and do not worry. The longest I have left bra on was 5 days at CTC this year. Rained 3 of the 5 days. I have only used my bra one time. It is so ugly on my yellow car it will NEVER go back on unless I have it painted to match the car ------------------ This message has been edited by WildCat on 11-11-2003 at 05:42 PM I was thinking about painting mind to match Kat as well. Jim I was thinking about painting mind to match Kat as well. Jim Seems to do well. They have special paint for vinyl. If it is preped right should last a long time. On a factory yellow there is a company that makes a bra that matches. It is expensive (probably cheaper than buying bra and having it painted) but would be better than painting. Mine it doesn't matter, I would still have to have it painted I guess I neve asked, but this isn't paint? There are several pics of Kal spraying ... ------------------ This message has been edited by whealy on 11-11-2003 at 06:23 PM ------------------ My Prowler has over 65,000 miles of driving in all minds of weather. I have never had a bra on the car. The worse rock chips - by far - are are the fenders, not the hood or the sidepanels. Unless you plan to drive the car all the time with the bra on, how do you decide which trip you may get a chip. I have had a rock thrown froma car in front of me going to the corner gas station. If I was considering a bra I would get one and have it custom painted by KAL. JMO ------------------ This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 11-11-2003 at 06:48 PM My opinion... I would not worry about getting the bra for a long trip. Just don't drive too close behind anyone (as much as you can) and you should be ok. You are more likely to do damage to the side of your car if you don't have the front mud guards. Front mud guards are more important than the bra. Hey Marty how ya doin"? The throttle body does fine. It's my motor that can get trashed with moisture. Lot's of detailing with little pieces of towells. Had to do between 20-30mph for two hours and even then the car is not very stable, but man it was worth it. I used the bra mostly to protect the side panels that can't be replaced but with all the gravel on the roads I'm sure it saved the hood as well. I had a great time thanks to Bob & CJ and JD and Patty. Any chance of you being in Denver this winter? Offer still stands, you come to Denver and I'm buying. ------------------ Here's my 2 cents: Later on you can get the bra painted by Kal and customize to your taste. ------------------ I've had this painted bra on the Kat for over four years. And, the best paint on the car is under the bra. Now, when the bra gets wet, you DON"T want the bra to dry in the sun. That is what can cause damage. There's a warning that comes with the bras to that affect. You can drive in the rain, just remove the bra for drying. Larry. Kal will paint the bra the color of the Prowler for $400. NOt sure how that compares to Speed Lingerie colored bras... But, this would be on the Mopar or American Sticthco (skintight) bra for the Prowler... ------------------ Mrs. Meancat ------------------2cold I am about to prchase a Prowler 1200 miles thru KS, MS, IL and IN. Since this is not the best time, weather-wise, is there a bra available that won't mar the paint - or would I be better off to just drive and hope for no rock pits? I've had a bad experience with a bra previously and had to have a front end repainted. kat hunter I am also getting ready to pick up my prowler and drive (?)
it home 1100 miles. I don't know about any bad effects to the paint, but am also interested in any replies.

bwhite@stitchco.comBeWare If the Bra gets wet get it off immediately. I ahve experienced and I know of at least one other Purple Prowler having the paintt fog up because we did not take the wet bra off immediately. I had to havee my hood repainted. I swore I would never use a bra again. However it looks like I am going to have to drive my Prowler down to FL for the Turkey Run. Since I am getting a whole new paint job due to damage from road debri and the paint will be brand new, I will likely borrow a bra for the trip. But if that thing gets wet its coming off immediately. Purple is the only color I have heard of thus far that has had fogging problems from a wet bra. ALLEY CAT Ill. kat hunter and Wy Way2cold - if it were me,,,I'd put the bra on the cat for the trip. I've driven in rain, and worse, and showed no signs of paint problems. I know Rich had a problem and afew others,,,,but others will say the rock chips saved is worth the use of the bra. JMO Jim R. Ok here is my advise. I purchased a bra from the company below and am extremely satisfied. It is the easiest bar to put on and take off. The fit is by far the best I have ever had as well.
For running bra on . I have had my Kat and the bra the same amount of time. I have run in pouring rain with no problems.
I do keep a good coat of wax on Kat. I tend to only wear the bra when on long trips of a lot of Freeway traffic. I to do not want stone chips from fenders throwing rocks.

Skin tight is the name American Stitchco named the MOPAR BRA when they started selling it directly to the owners.....still the original MOPAR BRA
Larry & Sue MayesJim R. Larry You are right . It is a lot of Black.
Not sure how the paint would hold up. I have painted Vinyl but not for exterior use.Wayne Finch When Kal customizes bra's, I believe he dyes them, does not paint them WildCat quote:

Wayne,Marc-Colo-99 2cold, I just returned from SEMA and had to drive thru this on the way and the bra saved my car from alot of damage. If the weather is good maybe not as much to worry about but better to be safe than sorry. Marty Usher Everybody has their own opinion and here is mine:
Marc - I am glad other people drive their car through the snow! How does the exposed throttle body do in the weather.
Maybe I could beat you with chains on!

[/B]Marty Usher Marc - I will be producing a convention in Denver again in March. See you then for sure. Randy Cobb Great advice from all above.
I would wax the car good and put on the bra.Laddie Roussel 2cold.
The paint Kal uses is a vinyl dye. It's mixed to the paint codes of the car with all the colors. A vinyl additive is added in place of the paint additive. The colors are the same as regular paint... At least that's the way it is using Dupont. I've watched the paint/dye mixing process...
DR PROWLER I love the looks of some of the bras I saw in Tennessee and will really consider getting one made next year.If going on a long trip,I would put it on(just in case)and take it off as soon as you get there-specially if there is water trapped behind.Good luck when you bring it back home! Blue Kat When I first got my Mulholland, it had a case of paint fogging from being left wet under the back edge of the top. A few minutes with a heat gun cured the problem. You just have to be careful to keep the heat gun moving to avoid paint damage. BeWare BC, The heat gun treatment did not work for me. I worked on mine for over 3 hours. I guess it depends on the severity. ETMIDZT I got caught in two Big rain storms this last Summer while cruising the U.P. of Michigan with my flamed Bra on. Rained so hard I had to pull off the road....She was hydroplaining...I drove the Kat hard after the storms till the bra dried. Left it on all that week. Never a problem!
So.....Driving it till the Bra dried worked for me! No hazing or discoloration problems here!meancat Just wondering, are these bras easy to put on and take off? About how long does it take? I want hubby to get a painted one. If it is alot of hassle, maybe not. The idea taking it off as soon as it gets wet would be next to impossible here. CTProwler I would have it delievered in a enclosed car transport!!
