thomas leuschner Took KAT in for state inspection today. The mechanic said "I would prefer not to put your car on the dyno". So he typed in traction control. He then proceeded to put a probe up the tail pipe and hold something that was connected to the inspection machine next to his chest. The machine showed an RPM of 750 + or -. The other gauge on the machine was a digital readout, it cycled twice like a clock, after that he handed me my inspection sticker. I thought that was pretty cool. I hope the RPM wasn't his heart rate. BeWare Here the just plug into the computer under the dash. The data goes direct to the DMV. You renew your plates on-line and the DMV has instance notification your vehicle passed based on the VIN. The only other thing they do is check the gas cap. They did not inspect for CATS. SuperKat WOW, Rich your in the big city. Out my way no inspection and no connection to the DMV. Old fashion paperwork at the county office. That will likey change soon.
