THANKS to all that help me with the project. Below, in Blue, is the "Official" response I just received... Hello Jay, At our business meeting last night our club decided to welcome Prowlers to participate in the 30th anniversary Turkey Run. All prowlers must be pre-registered for the event and registered with Pat Jeffries for "club parking". We will set up a special "Prowler Corral" and will welcome all prowler participation. Again.... so there is no potential misunderstanding. 1. Prowlers will be welcomed and encouraged to participate but must be pre-registered and park in the club "prowler corral". They will receive a special prowler sticker that will eliminate any potential problems and facilitate easy admission at the gate during the event. 2. Prowlers that are not pre-registered and do not have this special sticker will NOT be allowed entrance or registered at the event. 3. This change applies to Prowlers only. We will still not allow Vipers, P.T. Cruisers, Chevy SSR's, Saleens, Impala SS's, etc. We will post this update on the website this weekend. We would appreciate your help in getting the word out to the Prowler community about the pre-registration requirement. I look forward to meeting you and I hope your group has a great time at the Turkey run. Best Regards Stu Stuart Sarjeant We hope to see y'all there in Thanksgiving and this "acceptance" really opens the door for Prowlers to be further recognized as a "Street Rod" for future prestigious events and sanctioning organizations. We are on our way and THANKS to everyone who helped make this change and recognition a reality. Sincerely, Jay Kevin ------------------ Thank YOU Do you think it would be appropriate for since this letter of acceptance ------------------ More 'Pumpkin' photos . . . . . More cars and other stuff New pictures in Personal Scrapbook (02/23/03) ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ I was getting slightly worried, since my license plate says: 2K-ST.ROD I feel much better now,,,,,,,,,,thanks again!!! ------------------ 27,000 miles of smiles kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkken ------------------ This message has been edited by lavka on 08-27-2003 at 02:32 PM I would just skip it myself. Too many other shows and cruise ins that would love to have the Prowler. Just my opinion... Mike I don't need any snobby club to recognize the Prowler as a cool car. I get enough people every day yelling it at me on the road...LOL.YELLER CAT For all y'all that help me with "lobbying" the Daytona Beach Street Rods to have the Prowler recognized as a "Street Rod", "Hot Rod" or "Classic Car", I am pleased to inform you that we have been recognized and are allowed to participate in this prestigious event... the 30th Annual Turkey Run.
You may register now with Rick Finzer. He will mail the special sticker to you along with your registration. You can contact him at rick@turkeyrun.com or 386.767.9070 for any additional information.

Sounds to me like this particular club is mired in their own ego primping and political BS. I try to avoid these types of clubs.
On the whole Jay this is a good thing for the Prowler. Thanks for your effort in getting this done.
-Tomcondor Nice to heare that prowlers still can enter the Turkey Run in Daytona Beach. I , and lots of my friends and clubmembers from germany, holland and GB visit this event since over 10 years. We bought lots , lots, lots of parts and over 15 turn key street rods at the show in Daytona.
I got lots of Prowler Information at the last Turkey Run in 2002. George M. and all of the prowler owners were very friendly , the helped my a lot with prowler Infos before I bought my first CAT.
About NSRA , the National Street Rod Assiciation allows only PRE 1949 cars at there events , on GOOGUYS Shows it depense on the cut up year. But the Goodguys have some Events that willcome all years of American Steel"".
In Europe the defination for the prowler is a " Factory HOT ROD ".
I hope that I can make it again to the Turkey Run. if someone is looking for a pre 49 Street Rod, this is the best place in the US to go to. ( end of seeson = good prices...)jmcant1 I don't know... after the rude way they responded initially, and the fact that they really do NOT want you in their little club (sorry, we're capped at 100)... Black Tie 161 Congrats Jay, I see your point of getting the Prowler recognition in car shows, and getting a new category,
but jimcant1 has a point too. ....mannyd I could of imagine the inital responses from these organizations when lobbying for a prowler to be considered a streetrod. But what helps in your plight is the fact that there are more New styled aftermaket srteetrods being manufactuered and sold nowadays then one could ever imagine. Look how much money is being made and research and developement is taking place to improve and beautify and safety each part of a streetrod. That fact that a mainstream auto company had recognized and built in very limited quanity a car to show the appreciation of what streetrods mean to this country only makes me believe that the prowler should be accepted. Old timers with the gennie cars will always resent ours and all aftermaket rods.
I know I am ready to get my credit card out and build a " newstalgic" rod as soon as I can to sit next to my prowler.
