ed monahantoday for $ 32,500, I think he said. That is WHOLESALE. I will double check on that price. It was probably in Columbus, OH.

A little over a week ago, a local dealership offered me a wholesale trade in for my Prowler "w/ trailer" of $23K - for a Crossfire. I told the sales manager to kindly put his offer where the sun doesn't shine.

JRLHate to tell you guys, but that's retail!

RayHate to tell some of the people on here but ... why is a mid-year Corvette commanding such high money, even for a non-matching #'s motor (that's car-speak for really a non-original vehicle)? Because the owners require that amount in order to sell. I am not talking just the unusual high-horse power, unique optioned cars either ... run of the mill '64 - '67 Corvette's. The logic here is .. and others are banging their heads against the wall on this one too ... if you don't need to sell ... DON'T ... but if you do and it's not dyer ... hold out for what you WANT. Remember Smokie the Bear "Only YOU can prevent forest fires"? Well ... only YOU can keep the Prowler market from becoming worthless. Just my 4 cents.
Kelley AustinHey Ray!!

you hit the nail on the head with that one.

Bill WatsonHI ALL. I WAS OFFARD $30.000
FOR A 2002 GOLD AND I KEEP IT.

ONE OF THE PROBLEM IS THERE IS NO BLUE BOOK OR N.A.D.A. BOOK.ON PROWLERS.
I THINK THAY ARE JUST TRYING TO SEE WHAT YOU WILL TAKE .
I WILL NOT GIVE MY CAR,S AWAY .IF I WAS TO SELL MY CANDY APPLE I WOULD ASK $65.000 WHY NOT ,THERE WAS LESS THAN 300 OF THEM. BILL IN OREGON.

ed monahanJRL, the auction is for dealers only so it is wholesale.
indy96People bought them when they were flush..now the market sucks and they're dumping them. Hold on for the best price or don't sell. I hope this is just a "blip" but then again I bought mine cause I wanted one and have no intention of selling or trying to make a profit..not an investment in anything but FUN!
Eagle 1I had bid on the Black Tie on E Bay from Florida and lost it at 37,000. The dealers had posted he had a person who would but it at 38,900 but it now, Wish I had gone up higher but not at the computer near end of Auction.
DarylHi all,

I am a dealer here in PA. About a month ago at a Manheim owned acution, a Mullholand Prowler with 8 or 9k mi. sold for approx. $37000. I'm sure there are some on here that will say I'm lying, but I saw it with my own eyes. Price did seem a bit steep, but that's what it brought. Please note this is a dealer only auction but it's not impossible for dealers to get a customer inside.

JRLI don't know what you saw but I just went onto the Manheim auction program on line, (yes, I'm a dealer too), And there was one '02 candy red that sold for 35 and that was it. All 01's,'00's and'99's are 31 on down and that's with under 1000 miles. Most are in the mid to high 20's. With miles they're way under 25K. I think you heard what you wanted to hear as there are NONE on the sheets over 35 and it was that one '02 that was 35
JRL
JRLA mulholland with 600 miles just sold for 33. I think that's what you saw.

Dennis AcottI have found the Prowler listed in the NADA collectables, special interest (or something like that)edition. It seemed the values were higher than some that have been posted here.
idiveSomeone posted Prowler values weren't listed in the blue book or NADA, so I tried looking mine up online today. My '97 wasn't listed in Kelly Blue Book, but on NADA, it said high retail was 37K, based solely on 39K MSRP. It was listed under passenger cars.

Dale BeamanMy 2 Cents Worth. If you really love the cars just hold on to them. In about 2 years the speculators will be flushed out along with the greedy dealers, both of which deserve to get burned. Then you will see the people buying them who really desire them for what they were intended to be - Cool Cars To Enjoy! The prices will stabilize and then increase as more people want them to enjoy and the supply available for sale starts to drop as owners decide to keep them off the market and others get wrecked.
They may have made 11,655 of them but only 11,654 is the most that will ever be available for resale because mine will never be sold!
CatDudeSometimes I still can't believe I bought this car...

2 years ago, I had never really imagined that I would own a Prowler... Now I can't imagine ever getting rid of it... I can't imagine a more stylish car for the price, but anything is possible...

If someone flat offered me $60K or $70K or even $80K - Call me foolish, but I'd have to think about it. It's not a no-brainer that I would sell. I really do like this car and I am particularly attached to the "one" of only 98 '02 Silvers that I own. I am definitely one of those die-hards - not in it for the investment!

ed monahanAn update or correction. The auction was in Indianapolis. I finally remembered to ask but now he forgets the price. Never mind. It was the first car out of the chute. Had low miles and looked like showroom condition.
Top KatMy two cents worth. I was in the New car business for seven years and have been a collector- restorer for over 20. Supply in demand and interest in a particular car is what sends the price soaring. Most of us Kat owners have no need or desire to sell at this time . Supply in demand will be there due to the limited production. The fact that this was a hand built car as opposed to production line will also come into play at some point. Bottom line, the price of these cars will go up. It just will not be tomorrow. Oh, one more thing. The interest; it has only begun to be stimulated. I find people every time I have my car out that have never seen one. Again, this is only my oppinion.
Jim
