Owner: Steel Dreams 4 U (John Wastlenski)(not positive on the spelling) Whipple SuperCharger - 492. hp bored and stroked It was great seeing George again and he had a lot of great cars in the show! To JRL: alot is not a word in the English language. The proper way to write it is; a lot (notice it's two words) or allot (when talking about distribution). George Barris and CJ Notice the lack of headlights and the two small round lights on either side of the grille. Purple ghost flames! This message has been edited by CJ on 03-29-2010 at 09:17 AM I have a lot more pictures of some gorgeous cars with colors that should have been on the Prowlers. I will have a scrapbook done tomorrow!! This message has been edited by CJ on 02-22-2003 at 12:52 AM Duane Mikael This message has been edited by WILD THING on 02-22-2003 at 07:31 AM ------------------ TUIB.......I agree..........George's creations are usually pretty wild............but this one was very tasteful and conservative in comparison! From what I understand, now that the show has passed the 50 year mark, each year following (starting with this one) they will be doing the show as a tribute to the most famous car builders of the past. He had a great number of cars there that were built by him........hand selected by George. He was pretty excited about the whole thing. WildThing.........yes, George is a very cool guy and he has a great memory for the people he meets. Bob and George and Performance West worked on a project for this past SEMA show. They used a GEM car and did a look-alike vehicle of George's famous Ala Kart. It was pretty cool! This message has been edited by CJ on 02-22-2003 at 08:17 AM I like the headlights removed like Barris did it. Wouldn't Accura Intregra headlights work if molded into the nose? Best looking car I've seen. Chip mods??? CJ????? Bob????? ------------------ George is a great guy. I met him and his wife at the car show in South Bend in 2000. His wife was over looking at the car as I tried to wax it an hour before the show opened. She kept asking who painted it, how much it cost to have painted and what kind of wax was I using. i didn't pay much attention to this little old lady, but she said she wanted one but her husband wanted to get her a Bentley. I really was trying to get the car waxed and she just kept talking. After I started to pay attention to her that is when i found out her husband was George Barris. She brought him over to see it and he said he really liked it. I ended up getting a couple of things signed by him, He remembered my car and signed it well you can see, This message has been edited by WildCat on 02-22-2003 at 03:47 PM A sad thing, George's wife passed away a year or so ago. He's a little lost without her. This message has been edited by RPL on 02-22-2003 at 04:42 PM George is a great guy and is a pioneer in the custom hot rod world. We've had a lot of opportunities to spend time with George, as he has done some work with my husband's image vehicles. Bob has also brought him to SEMA and he has done some autograph signings at several events for Bob. Right, Cliff? Check out this link for some pictures of BatCliff and George........(BatCliff is one of our Prowler owners) "A LOT" ------------------ More 'Pumpkin' photos . . . . . More cars and other stuff New pictures in Personal Scrapbook (02/23/03) "The Prowler is not a car to go from Point A to Point B. The Prowler is the Point!" Very cool....The interior is nice...CJ Bob and I attended the 51st Detroit Autorama today. We were able to spend some time with George Barris, who is being inducted into the Hall of Fame. He did a custom Prowler that was absolutely gorgeous!!! Here are some stats and pictures:
Heads ported and polished
Computer and Chip modificationsCJ More pictures............
tangled up in BLUE BEAUTIFUL !!!!......especially like the interior.....one of the more tasteful Barris creations I have ever seen....... Duane Curto Very Cool ! Thanks for sharing the pic's CJ. Rare1 Looking gooooooood! Kraut Beautifully done, but the seats don't look very comfortable. Love the ghost flames. WILD THING Well, Well!!!
This is too funny
I met the guy who owns this car in shrewsbury mass. 2 years ago and he is in big construction and has allot of money!!!!
If I remember right he's spent over $50,000-65,000 in car at the time, with paint job, door handles molded off, molded light plates, BMW lights in pvc piping in the front and custom interior, had it lowered by 2" and a few other things.
He's a nice guy, him and George met and George had a few of his cars there, now George has done some work to this!
What's cool and flattering is this is the same guy that was looking for me at world of wheels in Boston, 2002 Jan 4th. I talked to him later following week on phone and we talked about some ideas? I had my pictures taken with George because he was walking around car with his associate, and wanted to know who owned car?. They were signing autographs later for fast and furious movie, and while waiting in line to have him sign a emblem thing for my father. he called me out and acknowledge me and my car.
It was cool feeling with cameras flashing and people coming over at me, like I was some kind of celebrity or something, he gave me his card to call him and I did and gave me a few pointers and all.
He's a great guy and the guy who owns this prowler seems to be a nice guy too, boy George barris involved I'm sure he spent allot of money?
Well my project is close at hand and unfortunately I don't have money rolling out my pockets, so it takes a little longer.
But I can say it's the first one!! and it goes with my username, yes Marty and butchee we are very close, the last thing is the paint which will take 6 weeks.
But yeah I guess I gave out some ideas that someone jumped on?
coming soon to a theater near you "WILD THING"butchcee Notice it says "Whipple Supercharged"? I saw this car at Finishline when my Whipple install was being done. It was signed on the front fender by Barris. Matt, the Finishline proprietor, asked me if I knew who Barris was as he never heard of him. With the exception of the front grill, it is the same as I saw it there two years ago. The seats, I was told, dont hold you in and you slip and slide all over.
While the car may be unique, this one is a real trailer queen and can't get much use with this guys blower install..
CJ, nice shot of you and George.
Yellow is DCOOLESTCJ I would venture a guess that this is definitely a show car only......especially with the lack of headlights. The interior is pretty cool looking, but I would agree that it looks like it would be pretty slippery to sit in......but then I doubt anyone sits in it much! The paint was very nice in that George told me that it was not the stock silver, it was totally repainted. The silver paint is slightly tinted with the purple. I liked the paint job and flames the most! The pictures don't really do it justice. ALLEY CAT Al - What you are saying is that the Whipple S/C is a bad investment for the Prowler? What did you do with yours? butchcee Larry ,the blower made serious power and was able to smoke the tires through first and second from a dig, but the bracketry was cobby and the overall install left a lot to be desired. I WOULD NOT recommend this blower install from Finishline. The blower went on e-bay as a separate unit, and I still have all the other associated stuff in the Chianelli bone yard. jd2ksilver What a awesome car. Great color.
WildCat I like the interior, it could be rapped around by the console so you couls actually drive the car without slidding all over the place.

Larry & Sue MayesRPL Larry, butchcee JD, pretty sure Ida does all the management systems in Matts cars. That's how I hooked up with him. I think he used a unichip system in that car unless George had more engine work done. Matt used to blow a lot of smoke-----
Nice pics Larry! WILD THING george is a nice guy, and yeah he is a little lost since losing his wife. Nasty Cat I have to bring this one back for the new prowler owners jd2ksilver Met and talked to George at the SEMA show. What a thrill. Top Kat Nice pics CJ. Thanks for sharing. I met George, and also Dean Moon many years ago in "Cali". George is one of those who didn't let his sucess change his personality. Very nice guy. Sorry to hear about his wife.
JimCJ This was posted after last year's show.......which you can see by the date. NastyCat brought it back up. JRL Nice Car!
