Thanks good luck His prices are the best I could find anywhere. Rick ------------------ can also get a deal on hitch and wire harness if you want and you can install yoursel and will take you and a friend about 3 or 4 hours to do at home curtis ------------------ I got mine through my Dodge dealer. He accepted $4200 as long as I paid in advance. (Some dealers have gotten stuck with trailers that no one has picked up.) I should say also that I have purchased 2 cars and most all of my parts through this same dealer. Hopefully I will be able to get a new RAM SRT/10 through them in the future too! It does not hurt to ask or offer. You should be able to find a parts manager who does not mind making quick couple of hundred bucks for them to make out an order for a trailer. This message has been edited by Andy R on 02-15-2003 at 08:55 AM I'm at home now and my receipts are at my office, but my memory is that I paid about $225 for the hitch and about $325 for the install. They said it took them 3 hours. When I get back to my office I will give you exact numbers, but a range of $550 is what I have in the hitch and install. I have another $250 in the chroming of the hitch. Humm...This is adding up, isn't it? Oh well, it's money well spent - it's for my Kat. I didn't buy the damn thing to save money!!!! ------------------ Don't forget the MGW chrome Prowler hitch plug (if they are still available). ------------------ You have a PM. I do have a problem though. I chromed my hitch and apparently the layers of chrome on the inside of the receiver has made the receiver too small for the hitch plug or the hitch tongue. I haven't taken the PT rack out of the box yet and tried it. I guess I'm gonna have to file the inside of the receiver down. Any ideas or am I missing something here? A little advice from you guys who have chromed your hitches PLEASE! ------------------pocotoo I think I am looking for an orange trailer (if still available). I did a search of the past posts and found a few but they are almost 2 years old. I saw quotes of $4200, $4300 and $4500 painted and delivered.
Does anyone have current info on availability an cost?cmblockhus last report stated that still about 40 for sale by the factory dealer cost is 4120.00 in most cases plus ten per cent and any state tax if you have any in your state I work for a chrysler dealer and have one on order shipping date is 4-07-03, see you local dealer
block-busterpocotoo Thanks for the info Buster. I just got back from my dealer. They will not move off the MSRP of $5100. They said it would not be worth it to them to sell for less. Sounds a little greedy to expect to make $1000 just for ordering it. They also want $225 for the hitch & 2 hours to install. Does $400 seem high???? FL Blue Kat See this thread concerning part orders

Try another dealer.
If all the dealer has to do is order and take delivery you need not have to pay the premium that he thinks he deserves.
Also, agree with Curtis, you should be able to handle the install.
Dan G.pocotoo Thanks for the info. I will shop a few more local dealers and see if they will go for the 10%. $400 profit seems more than fair to me. I might opt for the PT luggage carrier that slips into the hitch. The install scares me, I'm not at all mechanical. Andy R Don't forget you can order this through ANY Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep dealer. Randy Cobb pocotoo:
Got my hitch installed at my local dealer on Wed. I'm with you. I don't raelly have a good place to work on my Kat in the winter, the time or the expertise and I trust my dealer, so I let them install.pocotoo Thanks for the info everyone.
Hey Randy, that is real close to the quote I am getting to purchase and install the hitch. I remember an extra charge for the wiring harnes also. I was quoted 2 hours (by the book) to install. I wonder if they will charge over what the "book" says since in most cases they do things in half the time the book allows but never seem to charge less.............TriJim Randy and pocotoo -- Another option for the hitch install is U-Haul. They install more hitches than most car dealerships and will usually charge much less. I doubt if my Chrysler dealer ever installed a Prowler hitch. U-Haul installed mine in about 90 minutes for $65.
