Laddie RousselWell we just completed the 2003 World of Wheels here in New Orleans - Jan. 9th to 12th. It's the only World of Wheels show in a Dome stadium. There seem to be more of the "Circuit" show cars this year. Lots of good looking cars and lots of daily (or weekly) driven cars there among them. The car count was more than last year with 265 competition cars plus 35 cars within displays. There was an exhibit for the 100 year anniversary for Harley Davidson and Ford. Our local Mopar club "Big Easy Mopar Association" (BEMA) had ten cars in the show. First time our local club has had a display in WOW...

The local Chrysler zone office provided some banners for us to hang around the display. We had a new Dodge Ram Hemi 1500 with a trailer and a Hemi car on the trailer... Couldn't quite match the commercial. But, let me tell you this was a big attraction and it's remarkable the number of people that came bye and said "that thing gotta a Hemi"... It's interesting on some of the questions. I've seen the commercial but, what's a Hemi???

Only two Prowlers in the show (Nick Latino and me). Dave Cook fellow Prowler owner had his Viper and 02 Z06 with Ligenfelther supercharger in show. I did meet one new Prowler owner Karl Durr lives in Folsum, LA and has an Inca Gold Kat.

The longest autograph lines were for Mini Mi (actor Vern Trotter). Now, if you're like me, I had no clue who he was. But, I guess he is the midget from the Austin Powers movie... I noticed lots of young kids getting their picture taken in front of the GTO from the movie XXX and the RX7 from the Fast & Furious movie. Another big attention getter was the Hemi truck pulling a trailer with another Hemi on it (just like the commercial except the colors were different).

Overall it was a good typical World of Wheels show. The lines of people were wrapped around the Superdome late Saturday night trying to get in... And, the Texas Bikini Team was drawing their share of attention. Some things just don't change...

ed monahanLaddie, the WOW was in Cincy the previous week-end and they had Vern (Mini Mi) and the Texas Bikini Team and some bicycle act on skate board ramps. It sounds like they do the same crap every week-end. It is in the Convention Center here but I do not know how many cars. They had a 50th Anniv. for Vettes, here.

How much does it cost to put your car in the world of wheels car show?

"Drive = Love"

WildCatTo enter most World of wheels you must be a ISCA member. It was 25 for membership and 15 per show. So the 1st show was 40 and just 15 for each show after. I do know of a show in indiana that does not require the ISCA membership but they do not judge the cars in the competition.

I showed in the ISCA in `99 ~ `00 season and was Eastern Division & International Points champ in exotic sports

The cars running for points must attend min of 4 shows have to be different class rated shows (size of shows are rated)and it cost another $25 to have points tracked. Miles are paid to those that travel more than 100 miles to the show. But it is a Pain to show unless you have alot of FREE TIME. Set up usually on Thursday and Awards late on Sunday, then tear down and the drive home.

It is Fun for a local show and to do maybe once. Too picky of judges plus they do not care much for our cars at the show, Just Like RODNEY, we get not respect.

ed monahanI was going to enter my car but decided the weather was going to be too lousy to drive it the 2 miles to the convention center and did not enter it. I printed out an application and it is $ 50 to join ISCA which includes the first show and $ 15 for each show thereafter. It is now $ 50 to enter the points competition. Inflation, I guess. www.autorama.com/casi/cincinnati_entry.htm
TriJimLaddie -- Congrats on your success.

Now I need everyone's help. The N. Texas Vipers want to place my '02 Final Edition in the Dallas Autorama along with a couple other club cars. I haven't shown before and have 3 track days scheduled between now and the mid-Feb show. I bought the "starter pack" of Zaino on Saturday -- I've been using Meguires, but some of the older Vipers shined better than mine. I've never detailed the engine compartment. Should I just pay the local detailer to get it done right(~$65)? Signboards? Any suggestions? I don't expect to win anything, I just don't want to embarrass myself and the car. Any suggestions appreciated.

Bart had nice display with his Viper. I would make sign with HP, Tourqe, and all mods you have... Might be nice to have Viper snake... Maybe some information on Final Edition Viper (#produced, etc...). Bart had a gorilla around in his display (stuffed animals seem to be easy way to go)...

I had Ad Graphics make my "All American Prowler" display (18x30). I gave them three pics, the words and said I wanted Red, White & Blue theme and their designer did the rest... It came out terrific...

Here's Bart's display...

$65 doesn't seem bad for good detail. I did mine myself. You will still have to do some detailing after you drive it there... We lucked out and had good weather on move-in day. Had rain on the way back Sunday...

Duane CurtoLaddie,
Can you post a pic of your display board ? Also, have they made any more of those bra's with the flames that had been discussed previously ? Looks like a great car show.
Thanks for sharing.
Laddie RousselDuane.
Here's pic of sign. On the Bras, Kal is waiting on completion of Prowler mold by Chris to start next Bra project. I'm going across the lake to meet with him this morning to talk about the bra project and bring the prototype speaker box cover back to Nolan & Chris to complete that project... Once I meet with Kal, I'll send an email update out to the list of owners I have who are interested in the custom painted bras.

Here

TriJimLaddie -- Thanks for the tips and Viper pic. Of course, you're just making my job harder. Your poster looks great. I remember running across the ad graphics web site a couple months ago, but can't find it. Where are they located or do you have a url? I have a track day at MotorSport Ranch with Bobby Archer and crew on Thursday so hopefully I'll get a picture of the Viper on the track for the poster. This would be be in character given the Final Edition paint scheme recalling the Viper Daytona wins.

I put a coat of Zaino on the Prowler last evening and don't want to restart wax wars, but this is the best the paint has looked since new.
