Dave MaddyProwlers are inconvenient:

They are:
* Hard to get in and out of (I'm 6'1")
* My head hits the soft top
* I have to bend down to see out the window
* The gas station comes too quick (12 gal tank)
* Bumps in the road shock your spine
* There is no trunk storage
* Conversations on the Interstate are impossible with the top down
* With a 4" clearance speed bumps and parking bumpers are dangerous

But: I wouldn't trade mine for any of those cushy cars. Since I bought mine 2 months ago I haven't been in my other car because the Prowler is just too fun to drive!!

• convertible tops with convenient fabric pull-away feature

• three-year factory warranty gets more use than some of my credit cards

I love it the way it is - until I make my next modification. Is it perfect? NO, but there is not another vehicle I would rather be driving everyday.

ed monahanDave Maddy, welcome to the POA. I am 6' 2" so I kind of know what you are talking about. Besides that I weigh too much. Did you know that your driver's seat can be lowered by one of the levers on the side? I did not realize that at first myself. Another way to GAIN headroom is with the hardtop. It is about an inch higher on the inside. I have had my cat for over 3 1/2 years and plan on keeping it until I can no longer drive.
Like Marty said, there are some shortcomings but not enough to make me think about selling it.

You forgot to tell Dave you extra head room by shaving your head LOL.

Since you don't need the booster sit I am assuming you lowered the seat to look out the window.

CTProwlerI'm 6'1" over 300 lbs. (I'm not jello though, built more like a pro football lineman)(just for the record!!)LOL I 've only put a couple hundred miles on mine since winter came. But its alot of fun. You can't put anything in it. I'll have to drive to the Golf course by myself.If i wanted to take it cross country, i'd buy clothes every few days and throw them out. I'm lucky and have alot of vehicles like most prowler owners. My Kat is for me to drive, when I want to. Its alot of fun owning a Car that has a website!!! I stopped at the grocery store once and that was a mistake. (See First line). I just bought a Prowler Brochure on ebay, that means i'm keeping it a long time..

Black Tie 161Dave Maddy: Try this for more headroom....(I am almost 6'2" and have no problem with headroom.) Move your seat forward towards the steering wheel. Then push down as far as it will go. You might find the seat goes down more when it is away from the seats backstop, which is inclined and can reduce your ability to get the seat as low as it will go.


2,600 miles on mine and absolutely trouble free. I get crazy reading about potential problems, but I am happy for this forum so I get a heads-up for things to look out for. I clean my wheels several times a week (maybe they won't pit then???) and this car is my daily driver...rain, snow, whatever, I don't care. But you can bet the car is cleaned in my garage before the engine even cools!
