YellowFever	What is the strongest emotional pull that got you hooked on these cars? The looks, the name, then engine sound, the uniqueness, the colors, the feel, the interior, what? I have owned boatloads of cars, some more expensive, some alot more expensive, some rarer but, there is something with this car. Something very emotional about it. What is it? I've had 3, each having more problems then any other car I've ever owned yet, I keep going back for another like the proverbial fly zeroing in on the bug-zapper.

Kelley Austin	YF, I think it is the retro looks with the modern design. If you look at the age of most owners ( 45 to 60 ) I think it was a dream of most of us to have a hot rod when we were younger, but couldn't afford it until now. Like me, I always wanted to build hot rod from scratch, but, never had the knowledge or the tools or the space to attempt a project like that. When the Prowler came out it was just what we always wanted, with a warranty.
Marty Usher	Kelley - I am still building mine! (And rebuilding) I agree it is the hot rod looks with the modern reliabilty. What other new car can you flame, remove bumpers, and add tweed to the interior and people still understand! It's the style and attitude that I like best! Happy Prowling
Randy Cobb	I ditto Kelly's comments. Plus I liked the uniqueness. Now that I have it, I have the same emotions plus feeling of freedom and I must admit an ego boost from driving it and getting so many smiles and thumbs-ups!

jkburns	Foremost, it was the look. But what really iced the purchase for me was this site. I knew that if I had questions, or ran into problems, the people here would be a great resource to save me time, effort and $. So far, I've been right. Except for Ed . TLRandall	Yellow - It had to have been the look. When I first saw it at the Houston Car Show, I kept telling everyone that I was going to get one some day. Some people said I was crazy (which at times I don't disagree) and some said it was ugly, but I kept looking, and when the time (and finances) was right - I bought one. Five months now and I still love to just look at it! It was kinda like the song you hear that you don't give a second thought to then catch yourself later that day humming it over and over again. While I initially didn't care for it, it was there in my head and I would read anything about the car and look at pictures of it for hours. Perhaps the fact that initially too, it was unobtainable. Most were presold and at astronomical prices. I saw a black one at a dealer and made a quick u-turn to go see it. It had been sold to some ball player in Colorado for over $100K. Wow, almost $60K over sticker. I wasn't going to pay that. Next was a used 99 yellow with about 7K miles on it, a nose that the dealer had apparently mistook for a bulldozer, and they wanted $58K for it. I tried to negotiate but, someone else paid it, sight unseen. Ah, the good ol days. Like a junky needing a fix, I was pretty much hooked at that point. Looking back at all the cars before and after each of these I've owned, this is the only one that evolks so much emotion and truly the only one that I have cared about this much. Just curious if everyone else felt the same about theirs and it appears I am not alone in this.
Black Tie 161	Like you YF, I thought the Prowler was unobtainable for me with the price......AND my financial situation at the time. On the other hand, I was still in Camaro mode and didn't really desire the Prowler either. Buying one was also not even a consideration unless I had a garage which occured only a few years ago. What gave me the "bug" was a Candy Red Matchbox hot rod I picked up that I could not stop staring at. Then I read they stopped making the Prowler.....The final straw was the fact I was going nuts with my workload and needed a release....Something to recharge our batteries on the weekend...something that will get us out the door and go somewhere....anywhere. I didn't even want the Black Tie, but there it was at a decent price. Now I can't picture NOT having it!
tangled up in BLUE	I didn't care about the Prowler one way or another when they first came out....what really hooked me was driving a buddies the first time, the feel of the car from the drivers seat sold me....the short windows/top, tight seating area, quick handling....it was the feeling of the drive that sold me...felt like I was in "American Graffitti" and was driving John Milners Yello coupe....remember the scenes where he was ducking down to see out the side window....it just felt KOOL....

dbudner	The car had that classic 32 look. I finally worked hard enough (saving for a viper) that I was able to buy my wife a car, then get my toy with no grief! I ended up getting a HD 5 years ago when she tried to use reverse psychology on me by telling go ahead and get one, see if she cared (I still here about it now!)

Prowler	For me it was the looks. When I started thinking about a mid-life toy, I thought first about a Vette. Then I started thinking "Man, Vettes are everywhere. I want something more unique!", so I checked into Prowlers. Once I found that they weren't any more expensive than a Vette, that was icing on the cake. That was before the mods though.
BeWare	Hot Rod look. Kelly described it perfectly. Except I did have one 29 Ford Coupe Hot Rod but this is much muc better.
