GlennLast December I posted a list of Prowlers that were for sale, along with the mileage, and asking prices. I do this research periodically to get an idea of the marketplace. Several members expressed interest, so here is an updated list for Aug. 2017:
Sorted in order of asking price low to high....

Average asking price Dec 2016: $34,121
Average Mileage of cars for sale Dec 2016: 13,321

Ave asking price Aug 2017: $31,652
Av Mileage of cars August 2017 16,658

quincyThanks for putting this list together! Not so much from a sales stand point, but from an insurance stand point. Many do not have 'agreed to value' from their insurance companies and this list would help them in their fight.
Good post! Interesting to see so many for sale considering less than 12,000 were built.

Nick C1 Orange one in west chicago il 30k miles for 30k. 1 in Indiana 7k miles for 30k. Looked at both a few months ago
Nick CYellow 99 for 21k in ohio
401KATA lot of low miles cars in that 29k range......buy and drive em!!!!.....jim
garysssCool list. Thanks for posting.
padrooI always wondered what month the price peaks and what month is the lowest or does it really matter.
Here we are at the end of August and anyone up north is looking at the end of the convertible season.
Kind of like having a boat. lol

Agree.....some one stated years ago that 'fall' starts the time of year people in the deep south / Fla. start looking for convertibles. The blazing hot weather is about to pass and its top down time. I've got a few more months left of top down driving in Tennessee.

Glenn

It appears that low mileage (less than 8,000) has a real effect on asking price. Other factors, such as Year, or Color, do not seem to influence as much.
You can clearly see that the Silver in Ohio with only 2,400 miles appears to be a bargain at $28,500..(well below the curve)

silverkatLot of work went into that list. Hey there Nick C what color did you get?
RPLNice analysis! Thanks for sharing both charts!

Nice graph! That took a little work as well! Thank you!

CCJThe black one in CN for $22k. I am having a hard time finding that one. With 20677 miles and it's a 2000 MY. What a bargain
CCJFound the actual dealer selling it. The price they're asking is not the price in the OP... Interesting:

bcsnaveCCJ The asking price isn't typically the selling price...

Asking $26k talk them down to $24k...where else are you going to get a relatively low mileage vehicle that looks that cool for $24k...?

NBTRYANI have a Woodward edition number 111 (13,700 miles). Does anyone have any idea of the market for that?

Bought mine in May 16 ....9600 miles ...29k...love it....jim

drbuttonLooks like the prices are still going down, very slowly. I got mine with 27k miles for $22k over 3 years ago. Seems like I did well. Now with 32k miles, but I am NOT selling!
GlennThat time of year again. I have updated the asking price data for Dec 2018...
Sorted by mileage Low to High:

Dec 2018
Average price: $28,836
Average miles: 18,596

Aug 2017
Average price: $31,689
Average miles: 16,650

Dec 2016
Average price: $34,121
Average miles: 13,321

Mileage continues to be the biggest factor on asking prices, although, the >1,000 mile vehicles are not asking for the premium prices they used to:

TLRandallGlad my Silver wasn't on the list, it would have really brought down the average. At the time I purchased that one, there were three others in Texas listed around $18,000, and the Silver was much lower than that.
quincyGlenn, thanks for the update!

I seem to be below the average asking price for the milage, but still no interest. On to Ebay next week!

Nice job with the statistics!

garysssThe average asking price doesn't mean anything, it's the average selling price that matters.
Hoagie1Great list! Thanks for putting it up.

My Kat has 36k miles, tried listing it a few months back to see what kind of interest I would get.

All I can say is keep your Kat! I got the best laughs ever.
