catfishdoes anybody have them on there cat and is the ride difference that much better.is it worth the risk of getting a flat.im putting just the frts on, has it changed the handling that much.

------------------

halicatgood question...
i have Kuhmo non's on the back and now need to replace the runflats on the front, I was wondering the same thing..
Marty UsherI've been running non runflats for almost 100,000 miles and carry a plug kit and cheap compressor that plugs into the power outlet. I have never had to plug a front a tire but have put a few in the rears. Unles you change the wheels and can't use air pressure sensors you'll get plenty of notice if a tire is losing air. The ride difference is certainly worth it not to mention the cheaper costs and better tread life. The price difference would pay for a couple of tows if it ever came to that.
George MaxeyI have BFG's and before them Dunlops. Much better ride! Now think about just how much I drive ....

Foottothefloor87I have to agree with everyone else since I got Goodyear non runflats about a month ago and was shocked at how well the car rides. It is almost like going from an old truck ride to a sedan. Best thing I have changed of the prowler yet!!!
Gary CYep, Especially on the 99, you'll love it and never look back. I have/had the Dunlops on my 99 and greatly improved Ride and comfort, but lost a small amount of traction when pushing the car to its extreme limits. I did come in second in the autocross at Dollywood.

catfishhow is the handling, runs vs. non runs.

------------------

2000CatI went to the good year non run flats, ride is much better, the chances for a flat are small, tire plugs and small compressor are a good idea
Jim R.Ok Jan

I just put Kumho based on the advise of other members. The ride is much softer and handling is very responsive. You can feel the road better than with run flats.

I have only had mine a few days.. As far as price. The Kumho's were 765.00 for all four installed via discount tire. They match Tire rack prices.

Jim

ed monahanI was at the m/c shop yesterday trying to get some chrome caps. The owner showed me a tire plugging kit that I had never seen. It does not use the "rope" type of plugs but something that almost looks like a tire air valve. You put it in with a small gun that looks somewhat like a hot glue gun.
I am going to have him order one for me. I will bring it to Louisville. If anyone thinks they may want one, let me know. I think they are about $ 50.

Towel boy, I still can't believe it.

ed monahanThat's the one Gary. Thanks. Good price. I will have to check out the shipping cost and do a comparison.

Jimbo - since Fat Pat sold his Prowler and traded us in for the Viper forum,,,,,I'm thinking this is the one position we now have opened for him:

POA Vice Provost of Cross-Cultural Communication and Understanding

His past experience with the Gay and Lesbian community, and blow-up dolls,,,,,make him a natural

Yeah George, just how long is your trailer ramp?

Neal & Mary Ann BardensGM makes a nice kit that comes with the SSR. It includes compressor and plug kit in a black plastic container. It would fit in the Prowler trunk.

ed monahanSpeaking of SSRs. I repoed one the other day. The driver's inside door handle was already broken. The ashtray seemed to be trashed also. I realize a lot of repo cars get abused before I find them but this only had 25,000 miles on it.
I have been looking for it for 7 months and saw it coming at me the other day. He had switched plates. I was on the bike and made a U-turn. He pulled into a parking lot about a 1/2 mile further up the road and I had a key. I started it up and he hollered, "let me get my stuff" so I let him get it. We also want his 2003 Chev p/u. Never made a single payment on the SSR.
1buddycEd- Are you a "Repo Man"????

Buddy - yes he is,,,,but don't tell anyone, he might be looking for their vehicle. Ed's cousin is DeWayne [aka, Dog the Bounty Hunter]

ed monahanI don't drive a wrecker. After everyone else tries to find them, they give the repo orders to me. Usually they are at least 3 or 4 months behind, some as long as 18 months behind. If they do not make the first payment they jump on them a little quicker.
I only work when the weather is crummy and I can't take a vacation or play golf, and even when I work I only work 5 to 20 hours a week.
If it is a one owner, we sometimes get keys made. I had a key for the SSR and the P/U for several months and just carry them in my pocket in case I see them. I usually only work on 5 or so at a time, until I catch them or can't find any new leads and give up for the time being.
It is a lot of fun and interesting but I am sure it does not appeal to most people. I love it. I have been doing it for a little over three years. Last year I didn't work from April until Oct. I work whenever I feel like it and just email in any new info I turn up.
If you are not planning on making car payments, get a non-descript car and don't get personalized plates. lol
RogerEd, how does it work when you don't have a key? Or a big dude comes out and wants to make trouble?
ed monahanRoger, there are usually 2 to 4 wreckers working. We have Nextel Direct Connect and I call one to find out who is close by. If I am on the m/c I sit a block or two away and await the wrecker.
IF the wrecker driver can get to it without any problem, they can have it up and moving in about 10 seconds without ever getting out of the wrecker. Sometimes they have to lift it and disconnect the linkage. If it is parked in a bad spot we sometimes leave it until later. If they have to use dollies, it can get hairy because that takes about 5 minutes. It all depends on the time of day/night and the location.
I pick my spots carefully.
ed monahanUpdate on this thread. I finally found the p/u truck last week. Had the key and drove it off. Called the guy and told him he did not have to return my call but told him "I did take your p/u, TOO." He filed bankruptcy just after buying the SSR and moved his business from OH to KY and only uses cell phones. No name on the business in an industrial park. Total crook.
