Anyone else from Michigan/Ohio/Indiana/Illinois/Ontario interested? This message has been edited by koolkty on 01-05-2018 at 01:25 PM If I get enough responses on this, we can look into getting lodging at the Hyatt in Auburn Hills. If you're interested, let us know if you would do both Gilmore and the follow-up events above, or only one or the other. Another option is the GM museum in Flint which is in walking distance of the Back to the Bricks event. Thanks to Bob Longstreth for this idea. More info posted in Event Discussions Updated Event Discussions with link for Holiday Inn in Hastings, MI. More updates in Event Discussionskoolkty Check out my post under Upcoming Events. Tom Mills Susie and I are in. Sounds like it would be another fun event.
It wouldn't let me post a reply on the other link. Says I don't have permission. ???koolkty Thanks Tom for pointing this out. I tried to reply to my own post under Upcoming Events and I got the same permission error. Looks like Mike maybe has a software bug.
Please post your replies here.garysss Upcoming events is only for annoucement of event. Post again in Events Discussion and you can reply to it. dru It's no software bug, you can't reply in that section Upcoming Events. It actually tells you that in the heading. You have to post and reply in the Events Discussion section. koolkty Yes, I see that now. I will start a thread in the Event Discussion section. katmat I would be in.
Gilmore Museum is a great place. Last May I took a Model T driving class there, driving a Model T is a total different experience!padroo quote:

Great place in the middle of no were koolkty For those that didn't see Jerry's (1HOTCAT) response under this topic in Event Discussions, please take a look, regarding additional options for the Woodward Dream Cruise on 8/16 and 8/17, following my event at Gilmore on 8/15. I spoke with Jerry yesterday and hope to get together with him next week to work out any more details. As I noted in my original post, there is definitely some distance between Gilmore and Woodward, and also Flint for Jerry's part. But if we can get more replies in the next couple weeks, we can start to plan lodging for each. koolkty So far I have gotten responses from:

Please let me know names and which car you're bringing.
Also let me know if you would like to continue over to Flint/Woodward on the following days after the Gilmore event.
I'd like to also ask for other suggestions of activities in the area. South Haven is a nice town right on Lake Michigan which I have been to several times and has some nice food and beach choices, although it would be over an hour west of Gilmore. There is also Gull Lake which is just south of Gilmore and has some nice recreational options (I am going to learn more on this one when I visit Gilmore later this month).koolkty If it helps drum up some more interest, nearby Gull Lake has a huge golf resort with 6 different courses. I'm not a golfer so I wouldn't be much good setting anything up there, so if anyone is interested in what it has to offer, and wants to organize anything, you can find out more at http://www.gulllakeview.com . koolkty Jerry and I met today and we came up with other possible activities for the days following the Gilmore event on 8/16:
Thursday 8/16: Back to the Bricks cruise in Flint. Jerry knows someone there who may be able to provide parking; more to come on that...
Friday 8/17: Ford Piqutte Ave museum and Motown museum; both are near each other so may be able to do both in same day, then cruise up Woodward and join the parade that evening.
Saturday 8/18: Cruise day; Jerry also has parking options near his place in Berkeley.koolkty Note the title change to note additional events being planned during Woodward Dream Cruise week. koolkty Postings will continue in the Events Discussion forum... koolkty Bump koolkty Bump koolkty Bump koolkty See update in Event Discussions regarding lodging. koolkty Go the Event Discussion and check out the dinner being planned the night before the Gilmore event!
