Kelley Austin | Does anyone know if there are any drivers side windo regulators in stock ANYWHERE. I was qupoted $565.00 for a new one. This is not what I was really wanting to hear. |
stevedymo | Try directmopar.com Left side window reg 480.00 or Wholesalemopar.com 484.00If you get one be sure to do the fix (reinforce) before installing. |

You may even be able to fix the one you have (provided it's not too far gone), before you spend $$$ on a new one. |
quincy | Kelley, There are several options to repair the current regulator. Perform a search in this site and do a bit of analysis homework. Tom Mills makes a bullet proof replacement regulator made with real steel and real gears. If I remember correctly his is in the $600 range as well (but worth it). If you never want to hassle with these cable driven devices again look for a set from Mr. Mills. |
ed monahan | Tom Mills' regulators are $ 320 each and are much better than the original. they don't use plastic parts. On the main purple menu, at the bottom, "select a vendor" and choose Tom Mills Jefferson Auto. You will see it there. They are highly recommended by most folks who have had a problem. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/018495.html This message has been edited by ed monahan on 04-30-2012 at 06:35 PM |
idive | If you want to stay stock I'll sell you a driver side for the same price as Mills' plus shipping. I have the passenger side too. Same deal. |
garysss | I just fixed Passenger side on mine Thursday. I used a rubber hose and clamps on tubes on both sides of motor. It was broke at the elbow. Working great so far and don't for see any problems, hopefully. |

Tom Mills | IMHO. The plastic tubes on the original regulators are the weak parts that give up and my opinion is that if you replace it with an original regulator it may give up in short order again. Some have replaced several in each door. The plastic tubes get hard and brittle over time so if you replace it with a new one that has been around for a while it will give up even sooner. I have seen new ones that were so brittle that the tubes broke when you bend them to install it in the door. Again just my observation |
Kelley Austin | Thanks guys that sure beats the $500+ for an original. I'll get in touch with Mills. How hard are they to replace if I try it myself? I had to put plastic wire ties on the one that broke to keep it up. Broke just before I was heading to Gatlinburg last week. |
Mr.Mcgoo | If you have basic mechanical ability it is easy especially with the detailed instructions ,,,, |
silverprowler2000 | My passenger side window went kaput a week or so ago. Just received my new one from Tom Mill yesterday. Will get it installed in a day or so. Everything was wrapped in bubble wrap with zip lock bag with screws, misc parts and detailed instruction. First impression is spot on. Can't wait to get it installed This message has been edited by silverprowler2000 on 05-05-2012 at 07:34 AM |
silverprowler2000 | Got my new regulator installed last night. It was a little tough and took forever. Glad I didnt' try it on my own. The other side will be so much faster. I will do the other side soon since it is fresh on my mind. 3 hours into the replacement we were checking fit on both side. My friend accidently hit the door lock button, we didn't realize it. Until both doors were closed and we were locked out of the car. Went to the shop that he worked at to get the bar to unlocked the door. After 4 hours it was done. The new unit is so much better than the factory design.

alrtg | Mine was done with the top down, no problems (unless you call all the help I had a problem) ![](http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif) This message has been edited by alrtg on 05-08-2012 at 08:36 PM |

That's funny! Things like that happen to me all the time. I gotta ask though, why was the top up? or do you have a hardtop on? |

I helped Andria and also just did mine 2 weeks ago with top down. I repaired mine and made circle around all bolts I remove so I knew where to put it back. |

My top did go up to test the fit but the installation was done with the top down. After posting I did realize my top was actually up for some of the installation but did not edit it. ![](http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/image_uploads/AAA/alrtgwindowfix2.jpg)
SEE, it was down! That is Goop Of Oil helping me while Garysss was slacking off.![](http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif) That silver stuff you see on the door is Dyna Mat which was installed throughout the car including the inside of the door skin then again between the door and door panel. (yes someone got carried away with the stuff.) This photo was taken at an ECP Maintenance session hosted by MDProwler. Another one is coming up real soon.
