He has cancer in the brain, abdomen, spine and bone marrow... It is very aggressive and his chemo will be very aggressive, also.... They have already finished part 1a of his chemotherapy on tues. (Feb.22) of last week... We thought that he would go home for the next 21 or so days but on Wednesday (Feb 23) they told him that he needed to stay in the hospital because his blood counts were so low and he was so prone to infection..... If all goes well he will get part 1b of his chemo around March 15(?)....and then another 21 days of no chemo...won't know if he will have to stay in the hospital then, also... We want to thank all of you for your caring, support and prayers (certainly still need all the prayers) during this time..... Love to all of you!! We miss you Dennis and hope to see you very soon! We wish you the very best and a speedy recovery. Mike and Karen ------------------ BTW: For those who live close enough to visit, contact Pat first. If you do visit him, ask him about the 2nd duck. Thanks in advance to everyone.CJ Hi, everyone! I'm sorry this took me so long....
The doctors finally gave us a diagnoses about Dennis...
He has a very, very rare cancer called Double Hit non-Hodgkins lymphoma...
That will be what they call the first cycle or regimen...
Not sure when we will find out if he is improving or not....

When we walked into his room tonight & I stated out loud "Did someone order a Proctologist?"
I wish I could show you that he still has his perpetual smile & the glint in his eye, but Pat said no pictures. The good news is that smile & sparkle in his eyes (we all know & love) are still there. I can only offer the suggestion to all each & everyone of you to bombard him with get well cards. If you do nothing else this weekend, please send him a card. Keep the smile alive!

Ed & Carol WeichslerCJ I would love to visit Dennis, but at this time I have a sinus infection and they will not allow anyone to see him if they are sick with anything. As I posted and Ed reminded us, please call Pat before you attempt to visit. He can pretty much take calls at any time.
