CapitalCatBack in December I asked for advice on holding onto my slightly-pitted rims or demanding new ones. (I had figured I wouldn't win, and wasn't looking forward to an argument.) Armed with resolve from the POA, I went to dealer. The dealer would not agree to give me new rims, so I asked him to write me a ticket (which happened to be the last day of my 3-year warranty). That kept my complaint alive so that he could take up the issue with DC. Finally this week I was able to show the rims to the DC rep. and I got the "...normal wear and tear; inside barrels; we can't do it" routine from him. Then (at Alley Cat's suggestion) I whipped out the POA threads on pitted rims. His comments after reading were, "This is why I never go on these sites. I hate them." But he agreed to call home. The next day I get a call from the dealer and he says my new rims have been ordered from Detroit. He also tells me they're post-2000 rims, so shouldn't be a problem in the future. (We'll see.) Anyway, thanks to AC and the prodding of MeanGene WildBill, Grrowl, KatAddict and Whealy, I'm a much happier owner. Thank you! My advice: Even if your dealer says "no," on any warranty complaint, get a ticket written before your warranty expires.... and always check with the POA!
MeanGeneNuttin' like the POA! Great news! John - When are you going to join us for some more fun!?
CapitalCatI'm ready, Gene. I've even stopped looking at my odometer every five minutes. (Now it's just every ten minutes.)
GRROWLCC,

Glad to hear the successful outcome. Yes, you can always come here for some FRIENDLY pushing.

To ease your mind, I just did a THOROUGH inspection of my wheels before the warranty was up. No pitting whatsoever on any of the replaced wheels.

... and that's why I love "these sites". Although you probably owe AC a one time user fee of $10 . Great news!

CapitalCatI think you're right, Whealy. But with the a slight twist. I'll be sending a $10 check to the POA in A/C's name.
Black Tie 161Way to go CC! My service manager hates message boards too. Maybe they fear unity in numbers with facts in hand! My 01 front wheels are showing bubbling, so the talk about post 00 wheels is BS.
