CatchMeNowI was looking to get a tune up and was looking to get spark plug wires, and was told that only 1997 have spark plug wires and not 1999-2002 prowlers.

What do you guys use or what does the Prowler 99-02 use for spark plug wires?

Thanks

ZuluProwlerDon't we have HT coils at the plugs, hence no HT leads? I'm not going to go looking at my manual since I'm grilling steak so will rely on more committed folks to confirm.

padrooThe 99 to 2002 use what is called coil on plug. Each plug has a coil on top of it. Unless your Prowler has a bunch of miles on it and running fine I suggest you leave it alone. JMO

CatchMeNowSo these cars don't require a regular tune up like regular cars?

I have close to 40,000 on mine.

ClayDWhat Padroo said. If it's running good, don't tamper with it. "Tune-ups" sort of went away with electronic ignition and fuel injection. Spark plugs should be good for a lot longer than 40,000 miles.
alrtgThe only service my 2010 daily driver gets is an oil change and lube every 5,000 miles.
At 100,000 miles it got spark plugs since that was the only item on the schedule.

In 100,000 plus miles the car has had tires, at 80K original front pads and rotors were still in service and still good but I replaced them anyway as I did not want to push my luck.

Other items were a upper motor mount (FWD car) and a idler tensioner for the serpentine belt and a cooling fan motor that failed at under 20K miles.

Many of the newer vehicles will routinely go 200K miles without major issues when cared for, and not abused or neglected. JMO

CatchMeNowthank you, learned something new
ZuluProwlerYou can add huge bang for the buck with regular air filter changes and or/cleaning.
