------------------ This message has been edited by blubyu on 10-24-2004 at 08:45 PM Ed - can we wait until Spring? It might be a little chilly in January or February! Of course you all may want to cruise to Louisville for the National Farm Machinery Show in February! OK - we'll wait until Spring and have Ed and Dale plan a fun event for us. Dale It might help to plan how many cars and see if we could get an area reserved for us After the 1st of the year lets get together and plan an event.Dale Beaman My wife and I went for a drive today to enjoy the last of the fall colors. Top down, sunshine, 73 degrees and thought life was almost perfect until we turned onto KY 1955 and then it was! Nineteen miles of Kentucky back roads with beautiful scenery and approx 150 curves up and down hills!!
WOW as my license plate says "ITS FUN"! Second gear most up the time at 25 to 65 miles per hour - it sounded great to hear that motor making noise. Maybe next year we can get some Prowlers together for the Somernites Cruise in Somerset, KY and cruise the road on the way home.Marty Usher Cool Dale - where is that stretch of road? Dale Beaman Marty,
Take I-75 South to the Mt. Vernon exit (#59) and go south on US 25 to Livingston (about 7 miles). Turn left onto KY 1955. The next 19 miles will remind you of the Tail of the Dragon! Follow it until you get to KY 421 and turn left and it will take you back to Richmond. On 1955 their are about 10 or 12 times when you top a hill and the road takes a sharp turn. Once I figured out it was best to hit the brakes at the top of a hill that I couldn't see over I didn't have as many scary moments. But "ITS FUN" !CJ Sounds like a great route for a Prowler event! ed monahan Dale, A guy I know just moved back down home. He has been after me for 3 years to get a group of Prowlers to come to the Somernite cruise. I keep telling him I will do it. Is it the third or fourth week-end of the month? I also like the scenery just west and north of Keeneland. The back way that comes out near the Toyota plant, only the west side of I-75. That is really scenic also.
We need to think about a regional event in the not too distant future.Marty Usher quote:

Marty Usher Ahhhh - come on Dusti - its like the North American Auto Show in Detroit only farm tractors, combines, and silos - 1,000,000 square feet indooors. They sell 100,000 plus tickets for the four days of the National Championship Tractor Pull also. CJ I've been to one of those tractor pulls in Ohio! Dale Beaman Ed,
The Somernites Cruise is the 4th Saturday of each month from April thru October. Getting a group together for one of the days would be fun.ed monahan Dale, I agree. We need to pick a month well in advance and plan an event around it.
Marty, my buddy Dale P. goes to the farm show. They also go to the big truck show every year in Louisville.
We went to the Combine demolition derby 3 times but it is the same week-end as Woodward. It is up near Ind. Phil GlDale used to drive a combine in it but got sore ribs one year and retired. It is a riot. It is like dinosaurs fighting in slo-mo.
Marty, drive the track at KY Speedway is Sat. Nov. 6th. 12 days away. I might go.WildCat I work with a guy from Somerset and he was talking about the cruise night this past week. Sounds like we should try and make it some night next summer. ed monahan Larry, they have 1000 to 1200 cars on a good night. They have an actual cruise, also. We need to plan early and get hotel rooms. Marty Usher Ed - I'll check my work schedule and see if I am off on Nov 6th. Dale Beaman At Somernites Cruise if you come in as a group and if they know it ahead of time they try to park you together.
