spoons | The Electronic Ratio Adapter (ERA) Box has stopped working on my 1997 Prowler. I initially thought it was the transmission output sensor that went bad, but I removed the ERA box and reconnect the speed output wire back to factory input on the TCM (Trans Control Module) and the speedometer work great; it's fast by 27%. I bought a replacement ERA Box from Abbot and I cannot get the signal to work. Speedometer is not working; 4v and 3 ohms comes from the trannys output sensor, 13.8v coming to the ERA Box, box is grounded to the negative terminal on the battery. 0 volts & 3 ohms on the output wire. I have since removed the new ERA box and put back factory wire and the speedometer works; it's just off by 27%. I seem to remember Dean from ProwlerPRO stating 1997 may have unique signal? The Abbot Box is what Tony uses on his Gears. If someone can provide any insight on this issue I would greatly appreciate it? |
robin | Maybe they can offer some help here. http://www.bobsspeedometer.com/1/120/ratio_adapter.asp Here are the specs for the G force gears. I know you have Pro gears!!!! but the 27% is the offset for both .. http://prowlercar.com/garage-corner/gears-g-force/ Engine rpm at any given speed will be 27 % higher with G-Force gears installed This message has been edited by robin on 10-22-2018 at 01:57 PM |
Tony Goertz | Try toggle ALL the DIP switches in the ERA to make sure none are stuck half way ON - OFF . Double check the 4 dip bank as well - both switches are marked which way is ON (1). |
