Vietnam Veterans Day has past (March 29th) as has Memorial Day (May 25th) and Veterans day is not yet here (Nov 11th). So why am I posting this today? As some of you are aware I am a Vietnam Veteran and Proud American who loves my country dearly and deeply. I can't believe I heard this song today for the very first time. I guess it's because I don't listen to country music very much. This song was recorded by Billy Ray Cyrus. The truth is we should not have to wait for a designated holiday to pay tribute to those that serve and have served and especially to those that have given all. Hearing this song really moved me today and I felt the very great need to share it in case others have not heard it either. SSGT Richard Ware, USAF 1965-1968, Vietnam Veteran 1966-1967 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dBPAmP1Sa4 Some Gave All I knew a man called him Sandy Kane I can't forget the look in his eyes All gave some and some gave all Now Sandy Kane is no longer here Love your country and live with pride All gave some and some gave all And if you ever think of me ------------------ This message has been edited by ZuluProwler on 09-01-2020 at 05:18 PM BeWare I actually hesitated posting this for fear it would turn into something political. It is not meant to be and I pray that it doesn't.
So to all my fellow veterans, those on active duty, fallen soldiers and POW/MIA's this is my dedication to you today and every day. Thank You For Your Service , Your Sacrifice and God Bless You, And God Bless America

Billy Ray Cyrus
Few folks even knew his name
But a hero yes was he
Left a boy came back a man
Still many just don't understand
About the reasons we are free
Or the tears he cried
As he said these words to me
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
Some gave all...
But his words are oh so clear
As they echo throughout our land
For all his friends who gave us all
Who stood the ground and took the fall
To help their fellow man
And don't forget those who died
America can't you see
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
Some gave all...
Think of all your liberties and recall, yes recall
Some gave all
Some gave all...katmat Great song, have heard it many times.
Thank You & all of your fellow brothers & sisters for their service. Viet Nam was a tough one, coming home to all the ungrateful protestors.u00tjs2 Really Great! Thanks for your service as well as for posting

I have the utmost respect for you and graciously thank you for your service.I lost two cousins in Vietnam, one 21 and the other 27. My father served in Italy during WWII and was decorated. My one uncle was awarded the Distinguished Flyers Cross for his service in the Pacific. He had four kills, and they wanted to send him home. He refused and stayed until the end of the war. He was the most decorated soldier in Camden, New Jersey at that time. Once again I can't thank you enough as well as all the others who have served. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! ZuluProwler Spare a thought for those who fought for democracy in other forces like the South African Defence force. I spent years in South West Africa and Angola, fighting communist sponsored terrorists and then many more years fighting the urban versions that (they don't deserve a who) planted bombs and killed civilians by the score. It was badly reported but we took it to both the Cubans and the Russians and they remember us very well. I lost friends and compatriots and remember them for their sacrifice. It stole our youth and then left many wandering. The wind in my face is the gift I gained and value above all else. garysss ALLEY CAT
