beachcat | I pass this tree on the way to my shop every day. It's been like this for years, sometimes more and sometimes less. It's on a section of road with no buildings or residences around. I'm not sure if it's a summer camp ritual or some kind of cult offering or what. Any ideas? This message has been edited by beachcat on 04-19-2013 at 02:37 PM |

bjprowler | If that were in California it would probably be called art and be given a $100K grant |
Drew | If that were in Ohio it would be because people there don't know what shoes are for!!! I know cause I'm from there. |
ed monahan | Drew, I resent that. I have been using brake shoes for years. lol |
Marty Usher | I have seen a "shoe tree" in Southern Indiana as far back as the 1960's. They are just a social phenomenom. YOu can google "shoe trees" and read about some of them http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/2679 |
BatMobile | used to live in queens, kids always do it on the electricity wires. Bronx and Brooklyn big on those. They don't have too many trees in NYC. Kids use the wires. |
