This message has been edited by Racer X on 01-10-2003 at 09:37 PM ------------------ davidn I heard a rumor they can go from Louisiana to Louisville on 3 cylinders and not miss a beat. Enjoy the (hopefully uneventful) drive - take the Prowler! Good Luck Has you added any gas treatment, might help???? Thanks for rubbing it in Steve....lol ------------------ 94' Mustang Cobra(Power Trip) 00' Trans Am WS6 Ram Air(Her car) 02' Excursion 4x2 Diesel(Our Beast!)Racer X I have been having some missing problems on my Kat this past week. The car seems to have been fine since I refilled the tank. But it was bad when it 1st happened. The car was way miss fireing. The dealer couldnt find anything wrong with it out side of a multible misfire code. I have the computer recorder on board now.....
Ok the question is.... I have has plans to go on a 250 mile each way trip this weekend. I was really wanting to take the Kat. SHould I risk it? I am a gambling man... but???Gary C I would keep the Kat at home, could be a long trip tangled up in BLUE It's warm there ...take a cell phone and drive it till it drops...then they can find out what is wrong....just give yourself a little extra time in case of problems....GO FOR IT !!! CJ I would do it...and as Larry said....make sure you have a cell phone just in case you need it! Have fun! davidn Go for it and make sure you have the roadside assistance number handy..LOL
Prowler GO FOR IT!!! tangled up in BLUE COLD in Kentucky tonite GPS John Go for it
- if the problem was "bad gas" you'll know by enjoying an uneventful drive. If the problem is the ECU or "yet to be determined" and you DON'T take the car, the problem will let you down at some "other" inconvenient time, just not this weekend. Leave a bit earlier and bring the cell phone as mentioned, leave the dealership computer thingy hooked up too and enjoy the drive. If your problem is gas related, you'll be putting in at least two new fill-ups (250 mile each way trip ) so the trip will be a good "flush" of the fuel system as well. It will also rule out "bad gas" if the problem persists. (I wouldn't add any kind of fuel system cleaner just yet to the gas if the car seems to be improving. See what the weekend performance is with a fresh fill-up or two then decide if you want to add a drier or octane booster or anything else. You might make things worse adding these right now, and if nothing else you will add one more variable to the list of possible causes, assuming the gas isn't the problem.)butchcee rollem. If not, you'll always be afraid to go anywhere. Bring the cell and the charge card. Racer X I think I'm going to take it... the only thing that might keep me from doing so is that I am driving through the middle of Florida. Very spread out. If something happened, I could be sitting for a long while. Plus I will head up there at night..... Time will tell. BUt I think Im going to do it. Steve T The real "Racer X" was never afraid of anything... Balistk RUN'HR..!!!! Gary C Good luck and run it till she drops but let us know. KatAddict NO RISK = NO FUN ! SAY NO MORE Racer X quote:

Well I didnt take it!!... for two reasons. One, the car was missing slightly about an hour before I was to leave. Two, it was 32 degrees up there last night with a high of 52 today... wind chill was 38... No need for a drop top. I drove the Trans Am.
Sorry if I let you all down.
