L@@KIN41Hey guys!! I'm flying to VA on Sat. to drive my New KAT home to Bismarck, N.D. Now....do any of you have any suggestions on what to watch for, anything I should take with in case of problems....How far can I drive on a tank of gas?? Anything you can suggest will be very appreciated! I bought a 1999 Black KAT with 3,180 miles on her. A HUGE Thankyou to TOP KAT for driving 2 hrs to look at it for me. What can I do to show my appreciation?? You all are AWESOME!!!
onecatnodogGas Guage on most cats are inaccurate... Stop and fill at 1/4 tank to be safe and they don't hold much fuel either.. Welcome to the Prowler Club and see you in Colorado in June... onecatnodog
BeWareExcellent advice on the fuel gauge. Avoid shredded tire debris at all costs. Because the front wheels are outside of the body the Prowler is more susceptible to damage. So give yourself plenty of sight distance between you and cars or trucks in front of you. Until you get used to the car, when parking give yourself plenty of room when pulling up to parking blocks or curbs. The nose clearence is only around 4 inches and won't clear many of these curbs etc.
Other than that have fun.

CJCongrats and have a great, safe trip! Be prepared to smile a lot...practicing waving and returning the thumbs up you'll be getting!! Watch out for drivers paying so much attention to your cat that they won't be paying attention to much else. I find that they tend to drift towards you because they are so busy looking!!! Watch out for potholes, curbs and speed bumps!!

Be prepared for people asking you questions wherever you stop...especially gas stations.

Other than that........ENJOY YOURSELF!!!

The Prowler makes you smile. Why? Because it's focused. It has a plot, a reason for being, a passion. It evokes the hot rod. It evokes the American Dream. This car is the human psyche.

Prowl 36Congrats on the new Ride! You're going to love it. Watch out for people wanting to take their picture next to the car while rubbing their A$$ against it with studs on their jeans. Have fun with it and enjoy.

galaxieAll the above suggestions & you can get about 200mi. on a tank of gas. I wouldn't go much over 175 before getting gas. Only a 12 gal. tank. Have fun & try to make an event this year.
TFischerCongratulations and have a safe trip home. You'll love driving it.
392HEMIIf you want to check on a Chrysler extended bumper to bumper warranty, contact David Warner 678-493-1111, he can set it up and make it effective the day U pick it up. Includes towing also.
Be aware when running at highway speeds with the air conditioner on it is not unusual for the temp. guage to run a full notch above half and on some a little higher. Set your tire presures at 28 to 30 max.. Your volt guage should show between 13 and 14 while at highway speed and the oil presure around half when warmed up, higher while warming. Don't forget the suntan lotion for your TEETH. have a Blast!!!!! PS: Speedo tends to be very accurate.
bjprowlerHey Bismark!!!....Are you still shoveling that "global warming?"...

You are about to have an incredible experience....I've had mine for four years and still can't get the grin off my face! I love my kat as much today as the day I first bought it.....

The only advice I can add is to suggest that you make lots of allowances when making turns and to stay away from curbs and those concrete parking blocks until you get the "feel" for where the front of the car is....It's kinda like driving from the back seat........

And lastly.....Don't be afraid to drive and enjoy it...The "smileage" is incredible...

MeanGeneBismark,

Can we give you ride from the airport, to get your Kat in Va?

Maybe we can look it over with you and point you the right way to ND.

ed monahanWhat route are you driving home? Maybe some of the POA folks will meet you for lunch or dinner or just say "hi" and ride along with you for awhile.
You might want to take secondary routes if you have the time. Much more fun in the little towns.
RicksterGood idea Ed. If you are passing through St.Louis on hwy 70, send me a PM.

Harry FindleyL@@KIN: Just remember, you are going to be drawing a lot of attention, and that includes the cop's. Watch your speedo till you get used to the car and the great handling on corners. Don't use the "automatic" fill --"Locking down" the gas fill nozzle when you fill up. You've only got 12 gallons to work with and the tank can "bubble/blow out" and down the side of the fender. Take some good CD's with you and load up the CD player, sit back, enjoy, try and wipe the silly grin off your face and just "cruse".

Welcome to the world of "Prowling."

TLRandallCongratulations!!!!

I loved my Muholland so much I bought a Purple!

Have fun on your trip

Top KatI did go look at Greg's new ride. This is one of the nicest Black 99's I have ever seen. The owner, is a long time street rodder, and babied this car. He had a pit designed into his garage and I could go down and look at the underside of the car as well. The bottom was as clean as the top. I don't think this car has ever seen rain.
Only 3200 miles on a 99. I asked him why he had not driven it and he said his wife would not ride in a convertable.
He also had a beautiful full fendered, 32 Ford 3 window coupe, with chopped top,"671" supercharged 350 Chevy with a mechanical injector hat!! Body was all steel with fiberglass fenders and running boards. He has owned the 32 since the late 80's.
I phoned Greg after seeing the Kat and told him how lucky he was to find this car. Of course he was very pleased and excited to see his new "baby" this weekend and start his drive home.
L@@KIN41THANKYOU TO EVERYONE and especially TOP KAT for all the help, I dunno how to repay you!! I'd love to see some of you on the way and will make it a point to hookup with whoever may want. Thanks for the offer picking me up at the airport, the owner will be there. Looks like my trip will take me Hwy 15 out of VA to I-70/US 30 then I 70 thru Pennsylvania, Harrisburg/Pittsburgh I-76, then I-76 West to Ohio I-80 W thru Cleveland, I-90 W thru Chicago, I-90 W thru Wisconsin, then I 94 W thru Eau Claire to MN....then home!! Whew! Love to you all!! Greg
DrewYour car sounds sweet, I truely love the stare at it (from myself), walking up to it to get it from wherever I've stopped, can't soak up all it's beauty, you'll soon know what I'm talking about. Enjoy and be careful.
galaxieGreg, I'm 5 minutes from I-80 (Oh. turnpike). If you would like to meet give me a call. Cell 440-669-0871. I'd like to meet up with you on your trip home.I'm retired & free just about anytime, unless I'm working at the shop......Have a safe trip.......Mac
