David BrownsonDoes anyone have the specs to the trailer or know how long it is overall. Reason being I want to buy one but curious if car and trailer will fit in my closed car carrier.Also,is the hitch and wiring a simple install. I see they are still available from ply. dealers.Any cons to trailer? Thanks for your help.
BeWareI don't have the Prowler trailer deminsions with me, but I had to purchase an 24ft enclosed trailer to enable me to haul both the Kat and Kat Trailer
Dave MillsMy hitch was installed by the dealer, but I can tell that some drilling is involved. It took my Tech about an hour to install the hitch and wiring.

WildCatI have a 24' Cargo Express that I haul my Prowler & trailer in. The car and trailer hooked together is 22' with the front bumpers. so plenty of room in 24' if it is 24 inside and there isn't cabinets on the floor in the front.

Prowler trailer is about 5' wide and 8' long with stock tongue. The tongue can be shortened. I plan on cutting 12" off mine. The reason DC made the tongue so long is so that there is NO WAY to jackknife the trailer and get into the body of the car. I have heard of people jack knifeing the trailer and hitting the exhaust. There is no way you should every get the trailer this far around.

It takes practice to back the prowler trailer, BE CAREFUL.

The hitch is easy to do if you have the right tools. It has been over 5 years but if I remember correctly, you need a 13mm socket/wrench to remove the bumpers, I used an air ratchet the last time and it makes it much faster. You have to drill a hole 1 1/8" in the frame and 1 1/2" in the trunk. Wiring is Plug and play, piece of cake, except drilling the hole.

The trans cool must be loosened from the mount but no need to loosen the cooling lines.

I usually pull my Prowler trailer in by hand into the car hauler then pull the car in. If I want to use the car I do not have to unload the Prowler trailer.

When I was showing the car for COOL FACTOR, I would back the trailer into the hauler, then back the car in and hook back up. At the shows, (ISCA, indoor shows, and yes I unloaded inside the buildings) I would unstrap the car & trailer and pull out as a unit, LOOKED SO COOL.

I don't have my trailer handy but I know that the specs for my Upright Trailer Storage Stands call out the floorspace needed as 31" x 70"

The FMB Upright Trailer Stands are plenty strong enough to use inside an enclosed trailer when towing if you really need to get that last few inches out of your usable space.

OK, I went out and measured the trailer. I was going by memory and it is shorter than it use to be. (I pulled the trailer behind my Goldwing to see how it would pull a trailer and remembered it was about 2 ' wider than the bike)

The Trailer is about 68" wide.

I have the Larry Lord upright trailer stand. If I were to use it in the trailer I would want to have the tubes straped to the floor and the shipping tongue in the trailer and attached to the ceiling/wall somehow due to the condition of most the roads we must travel on. Yes it could be used to save space.

It is great in the garage to save space

BeWare I don't know the cubic feet, but it holds a ton of stuff. My wife and I took a 3 week trip in conjunction with the Prowling the Rockies event. I think we took just about every item of cloths we owned. If you are hauling the Prolwer trailer inside your hauler yo can load the trailer up with much if not all of your luggage.

does it hold alot, Yes

is it worth $4,500. if you are looking at what it cost per cubic sq. ft. no.......but if you are looking for the coolest thing you can add to the WOW factor it cannot be beat. I have people ask where it is when I do not pull it.

Just picked up George's trailer this weekend and I know I want to shorten the tongue. I am pretty handy backing trailers and feel the better look of the shorter tongue justifies the risk of jack knife damage.

Question, is a foot off the most common solution? I certainly do not want to take too much off (see above link), but I would like to hear from folks that have done it.

Hey Guy, allow this for a suggestion Before you cut the tongue.

As the tongue appears to be standard square tubing, I would suggest buying a length of the same size and re-mounting the ball receiver. The only thing you'll be lacking is the VIN and no one checks a trailer anyway.
For my money, if you shorten the original tongue too much
and don't like it, short of heli-arcing a piece back on, it's pretty much done for. I'd just fabricate a new tongue & store the FOE unit in the rafters. Besides, if someone ever stole your trailer, it would be pretty easy to confirm
it does belong to you; you'd still have the VIN.
